Some of us are painfully aware of this... and also frightened, horrified, disgusted, and stunned. Truly incredulous.

Jesus F***** Christ!

Trump's DHS agents apparently just conducted a raid and search on the home of Rep. Ilhan Omar, Congresswoman from Minnesota.

I meant ... all these years, I wondered why nobody said anything about those shadows, which had never been seen before. But I was wrong: they did call it out.

@carolynporco.bsky.socialOct 11, 2026, 3:28 PM

I was so busy during the Neptune flyby that I didn't know what my colleagues were saying to the press. So I didn't know that the shadows cast by Neptune's highest clouds in the atmosphere were singled out as 'a first'. And all these years, I wondered why.

Thank you! I'm going to soon be writing a book about Voyager and Cassini and it's wonderful to see what exactly we were all talking about during the encounters.

@carolynporco.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 3:27 PM

Thanks for this! It already answered one of my long-standing questions. Can you point me to the time stamp of my appearance?

@carolynporco.bsky.socialOct 7, 2026, 2:58 PM

Wow! Was I in that recording? Is it posted somewhere? I'd love to see it.

Uh ... no

@carolynporco.bsky.socialSep 13, 2026, 5:05 PM

Hey ... I like this! ;-)

@carolynporco.bsky.socialSep 12, 2026, 2:36 PM

I didn't figure it out. I had expert help from a friend.

@carolynporco.bsky.social Too bad there is no sound in space

@carolynporco.bsky.socialSep 11, 2026, 5:24 PM

I know :-( It's downright horrifying to think how long ago all that was. Like, it can't even be physically possible!

@carolynporco.bsky.socialSep 11, 2026, 5:23 PM

\2 ... 2.5 months of emails, including bills! I'm anxiously waiting now for the debt collector! I was very much happier in the ol' days when I had my own email server, which I did for ~30 yrs. Relying on big corps is a bloody drag. :-( 🧪

Denouement! Thx to all those who offered advice in my Thunderbird/email problem. The solution had nothing to do w/ MX records. It was all Google's fault. They altered something in their Workspace environmnt which I, not being an IT person, didn't realize & it brought disaster. I missed ...\1

Isn't this pic a stunner!?

We at CICLOPS made a video of this flyby that blew everyone away. Check it out!

#ThisWeek in 2007, the NASA/ESA/ASI Cassini spacecraft took this close-up of saturnian moon Iapetus on 10 September. This mountainous terrain reaches 10 km in height along the unique equatorial ridge of the moon 🧪🔭 www.esa.int/ESA_Multimed... @science.esa.int @carolynporco.bsky.social @esa.int

This stunning close-up shows mountainous terrain reaching about 10 km in height along the unique equatorial ridge of Iapetus. The view was acquired during Cassini's only close flyby of the two-toned Saturn moon.
Above the middle of the image can be seen a place where an impact has exposed the bright ice beneath the dark overlying material. Image scale is 23 m per pixel (pic: NASA/JPL/SSI)

Thanks. But why would I want to connect it to my Gmail account? Isn't this a different email hosting system? [If 'hosting' is the right word.]

@carolynporco.bsky.socialSep 7, 2026, 3:15 PM

Thank you. I'm not an Apple person. Would Proton mail work on PCs and Google phones? Or Android phones? And is it free?

@carolynporco.bsky.socialSep 6, 2026, 3:36 PM

Never heard of them. Are they free?

@carolynporco.bsky.socialSep 5, 2026, 10:16 PM

Thunderbird. But I absolutely do not want to use gmail. Like most software apps created by 'the big guys' ... Facebook, Twitter, Gmail ... it's awful.

@carolynporco.bsky.socialSep 5, 2026, 9:03 PM

Ha! That's me! ... ciclops.org ... w/ the domain stuff handled thru Namecheap.

It sounds like you're suggesting I log into Namecheap & search for the MX record. Is that it?

I can't imagine why it would just suddenly go belly-up & I can't help but think that Google has done something nefarious.
