update: appears to be restocked but pls order from your local bookstore or directly thru the press website if you can!
that in itself is interesting to me. hopeful? maybe. representative of the status quo to have so many people wanting to read about ME but our infrastructures continually dismiss it and underestimate the community? that i am sure of.
btw, this isn’t to toot my own horn, but clearly Amazon’s algorithms profoundly underestimated how many people care about #PwME.
in the meantime pls order directly from the press or from your local bookstore. if you’ve already ordered from amazon and been waiting to receive it, i’d recommend going ahead and cancelling the order bc they keep pushing the delivery date back and never following thru.
learning that some people who amazon pre-ordered (understandably so bc they promised on-release-day delivery) didn’t get their books! they didn’t even order enough to meet their pre-orders. am working to see how i can rectify but apparently amazon doesn’t care.
i don’t think so and in general we profs don’t usually make any money from our books, since academic publishing is non-profit/ model isn’t based on commercial success
thanks for sharing folks!! the book sold out on am*zon three days after the release date, not a bad problem to have but still frustrating for people who’d counted on receiving the book that way

ugh so sorry that is happening. the press website says “Customers outside of North, Central, and South America are strongly urged to order from Mare Nostrum Group (MNG).” they seem UK-based. might that be a solution? mngbookshop.co.uk/publisher/du...
🙏🏼 their algorithms are ridiculous!
use this link from press and enter code E26WORK for 30% off buff.ly/mdidLhu
yall Am*zon won’t restock my book til it gets more clicks apparently. can everyone click this link but buy from the press lol?? (cheaper). students who banked on Amazon aren’t getting their books on time www.amazon.com/Sick-Work-Ex...
Save 30% on #NewBook "Sick Work" by @elimrogers.bsky.social, which examines the everyday lives and activism of people with ME/CFS and demands a radical transformation of how labor is defined and valued. buff.ly/mdidLhu
also I do not currently have the funding to make an audiobook, but the electronic version is screen reader compatible.
I’m off public-facing social media for the mental health reasons one might expect, but popping back on to say you can use code E26WORK for 30% off the book (now temporarily sold-out on Amazon) on the press website! www.dukeupress.edu/sick-work
hey! I’m not on here much and know a few bucks doesn’t necessarily make a difference , but you can use code E26WORK for 30% off on the press website
