Are you a developer or creator on the open social web and you are looking for funding? FediForum Connect now lists the funding opportunities that we are aware of. ...
What #3dPrint designers/sculptors are here on the Fediverse? I want to talk to them about https://socialwebfoundation.org/2026/10/07/call-for-proposals-fediverse-multimedia-grants/ ! Put me in touch if you know any!
Ooh - grants available for software devs and content creators to work *together* to enhance the multimedia experience on the Fediverse. So, who here is a 3D content creator, and wants to team up with us and apply? [âŚ]
Spotify harnessing hundreds of dev hours and the power of 3 supercomputers to change what the like button does again
I think _at the very least_ you shouldn't be a mouthpiece for twitter, even if you continue to use it. At bare minimum.
What if instead of rushing to respond to Gruberâs âX is a delightful place for people who are fun and not weird downersâ bait post with the much-desired engagement we just made a little face and kept walking. Could we try that, as a treat.
Fedify 2.4.0 is out.
The main addition is support for FEP-ef61 portable objects. A Fedify server can now host actors whose identity is a DID instead of a domain, serve their signed objects through `/.well-known/apgateway/`, and verify the portable objects of other servers. I tested it against [âŚ]

Ja'Marr Chase is a superhuman
@technursejon.bsky.social ah, nevermind
@technursejon.bsky.social that should help
@technursejon.bsky.social I'll see what I can do
@technursejon.bsky.social should I be concerned if the Bengals make the dolphins look like a decent team?
I think the only people who have figured out how to use the web correctly are food bloggers. No further questions at this time
Anyway, the moment I heard the news, I opened an issue in Fedify with a master plan for moving Deno out of our main development tooling. Fedify will keep supporting Deno alongside Node.js, and keep publishing packages to JSR alongside npm. Deno just won't be what we develop with anymore [âŚ]
I wrote about Deno's decline a few months ago: I wish Deno would keep doing what it does best. I shared its vision, but I think it never got far because a startup was the one carrying it out. This decision makes me more sure of that.
It also settles something for me [âŚ]
@benlk.com All I'm saying is there's a Chris Columbus out there who's IMDB says he was raised in Ohio and directed the hit movie Pixels (18% on Rotten tomatoes). Put up a statue of pacman in honor of him
Time to redefine "Columbus" in the sense of Ohio to refer to some other person by that name, or maybe a backronym.

Over a year ago I met an Anthropic employee at a conference and at one point she mentioned that one of the things she was working on was whether or not it was cruel to ever turn off an AI model. I thought she was joking. She was not.
Over the past year, Anthropic has repeatedly flirted with the idea that its AI models could be conscious in some way. In February, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said on a podcast, âWe donât know if the models are conscious.â
