The primary Senate Republican super PAC is sending reinforcements to deep red South Carolina as President Donald Trump prepares to travel there to boost Sen. Darline Graham. The Senate Leadership Fund is putting $5 million in the state to shore up Graham.

President Trump used an anti-trans slur Monday to attack the Dem nominee for the Senate in SC as he urged voters to back Sen. Darline Graham. In a Truth Social post, Trump referred to Annie Andrews three times as “trannie.” He said Andrews, who is not transgender, is “not for South Carolina.”

Adeptus USA, a wood products manufacturer, is investing $215.56 million to open its first SC operation in Honea Path, Anderson County. The facility will create 217 new jobs and produce pine moulding, boards, shiplap, and panel products, with operations expected to begin in the second quarter of 2027

Thirty-seven years ago today, Hurricane Hugo made landfall in South Carolina just after midnight as a Category 4 storm with 135 mph winds. Storm surge topped 10 feet along the Grand Strand, damage stretched far inland, and the storm was linked to 26 deaths.
