Minister Canney is now suggesting gimmicks like renaming the RSA & hiring influencers instead of reforms, safe road speeds and better enforcement
Irish road death rates are getting worse every year and he has nothing to offer but lip service

It would be terrific if the politicians responsible for making the laws in this country bothered to learn what they were before speaking in Leinster House
Without fare hikes “the department would not be able to fund the expansion of public transport services”
- Minister Daragh O’Brien
This is false, the NTA admitted they wanted fares to be 44% of their budget, they just didn’t ask for the extra money
Promoting the budget at Commuters who’ve just had their fares hiked by at least 15% is certainly a choice….
You have to wonder what Fine Gael were thinking this morning??
“Show us your budget, & we’ll show you your priorities”
It’s certainly not Transport after two consecutive Government budgets that focus on cars & roads instead of Public Transport that is Affordable, Reliable & Frequent
“Just correcting what was there” The Minister’s flippant disregard for one of the most important Public Transport measures in a generation is as disgraceful as his lack of personal accountability when it comes to road safety So much for “helping workers who get up early”
Tomorrow is budget day, if you haven’t emailed your TD’s yet asking them to Stop the Fare Hikes, now’s the time to do it!!
If we don’t stop this now, the price of the Bus, Luas, & Train will likely go up every single year
Every piece of Government advice is telling them to Stop the Fare Hikes
The Just Transition Commission is urging public transport fares to be maintained at an affordable level to reduce the National Carbon Footprint
Please Email your TD’s!! 📧
Thanks to @voltireland.org for their support in the #StoptheFareHikes campaign
Make sure you take the opportunity to email your TD’s before budget day
We can stop the fare increases but we need your help, and we need it now!!

We have similar rules in Dublin, a car parking space in a new apartment adds around €50k to the cost of your home… the rate is typically 0.3-0.7 spaces per unit Unfortunately Government hasn’t expanded Public Transport so people are still reliant on cars and it’s causing havoc in communities
Such a pleasure to help bring @tomflood.bsky.social to Dublin
Really inspiring presentation, so valuable for all the campaigners, engineers and politicians in attendance
Road Safety campaigning in Ireland will be so much stronger than it already is thanks to your work 💪
Another day; another subsidy announcement for fossil fuels….
Meanwhile public transport users are facing fare increases of 15%-50%+ in some cases over a 12 month period 😣
Please email your TD’s & ask them to #StopTheFareHikes

Any tax relief coming in budget 2027 for “People who get up early in the morning and go to Work” has already been eaten up by Governments 15%+ increase to public transport fares
Please email your TDs now and demand they reverse the decision!!

Even bigger subsidies being considered for private motorists while they hike the Public Transport costs for those travelling sustainably It’s unbelievable where Governments priorities are at the moment
