Hertford College’s packing list included four dusters, six bedroom towels and enough crockery for luncheon and afternoon tea.

An archival document from Hertford College, believed to date from the early 20th century, listing items undergraduates were advised to bring when beginning their first term. The list includes two pairs of sheets and pillowcases, three tablecloths, toilet covers, six bedroom towels, six glass cloths, four dusters, and sufficient plates and crockery for luncheon and afternoon tea.
