1,579 killed. 30,000 hurt on our roads last year — many more deaths than homicides. Pleased with the Victims’ Commissioner intervention. Road crime victims feel forgotten by the system. This is exactly why we need a Road Safety Victim Charter and lifetime bans.

200km done. But the call to action has never been greater — too many lives lost, too many families broken. We must do better #RoadSafety
Huge thanks to everyone who sponsored. Details re the call to action are within the attached press release.
End exceptional hardship loopholes: Approx 1 in 5 defendants who hit 12 points keep their licence via “exceptional” hardship. 20% isn’t exceptional — it’s routine. Some have gone on to kill in later crashes. This loophole doesn’t protect the public. It doesn’t support victims.Time to close it.
Privilege, not right: Driving is a privilege — earned and kept through proven safety, not assumed as a right. When utterly outrageous, dangerous acts take a life, we should feel confident to hand down lifetime bans. No hesitation.
Honestly, I’m professionally embarrassed we’re still calling for action on road safety. There’s evidence of progress but it’s slow, and nowhere near ambitious enough. Meanwhile, people keep dying needlessly. That’s why I’m running for Brake. More on why 👇
Day one complete. So hot, and I’m not as young or as fit as I’d like to be! 😅 Digger joined me right at the end, doing her best to look like she’d run the whole way 😊. Huge thanks to everyone who’s sponsored so far — really appreciate it, and I know it makes a difference to Brake!
I’m running 200km over 7 days to demand safer roads. On average, 30 people are killed every week on UK roads — deaths that are preventable. I’m raising funds for the charity Brake, who support bereaved families & crash victims. Please donate if you can. Thank you!
A driver was trapped and seriously injured on the A14 — and 11 people slowed down to FILM it. Disgraceful. No empathy. No decency. Just content. We tracked every one of them down. All prosecuted. Good. 👏 #RoadSafety”
Horrific and a devastating human tragedy. Why has there not been wider mainstream coverage and debate about this case? Some crimes rightly dominate headlines for weeks. Yet road crimes even of this magnitude do not. Increased awareness can help create safer travel.
Public reporting deters crime. We urge it for burglary, assault, fraud — so why not road danger?? Reporting helps tackle reckless driving and save lives. The Daily Mail mocking this as “villainy” misses the point. Accountability on our roads protects everyone.
