Lifting sanctions on Russian diesel only bankrolls Putin’s war and leaves Ukraine to pay the price - all for a temporary boost in the polls before the midterms.
It’s a pathetic, transparent manoeuvre from Trump.

Today we remember all those whose lives were taken or forever changed, and we renew our commitment to stand against hatred in all its forms. 3/3
Those who survived, & their families, remain irrevocably scarred by this brutality. Jewish communities around the world have also felt its impact, in the rise in antisemitism that has followed. Antisemitism is a scourge, & it falls on all of us to call it out and challenge it wherever we see it.2/3
Three years ago today, Hamas carried out the worst terrorist attack in Israel's history, murdering over 1,200 people and injuring many more, with many subjected to horrific acts of sexual violence. 251 people were taken hostage. 1/3
Just another gimmick from a party with no credibility on defence. £10bn wouldn't even touch the sides for a complete UK-wide 'Iron Dome'.
The Tories need to review their dodgy sums or be honest about which parts of the country their Patchwork Dome wouldn’t cover.
Until we give staff and patients more power to speak up, and introduce stronger duties on managers, boards and NHS leaders to whistleblow, patients like these women will continue to be failed. 2/2
A review is welcome, but frankly, it’s the bare minimum. Something has clearly gone catastrophically wrong in this trust, putting women in harms way. 1/2
As Lib Dem spokesperson for Primary Care and Cancer, I will be writing to the Minister of State for Public Health and Patient Safety to demand answers on how this happened and what is being done to put it right.
The County Durham and Darlington Foundation Trust failed these women in the most inconceivable way, and the pain caused is heartbreaking. Lessons must be learnt, but more importantly, corrective action must be taken immediately, so nothing like this ever happens again.
This is just horrendous to read about this morning. I am in utter disbelief that failures this serious could have occurred.
20 women needlessly lost a breast. Hundreds more were harmed.
We know with certainty that Brexit was a disaster, and now while Canada negotiates associate membership with the EU, Britain is stuck on the sidelines of its own continent. Hopefully this will be the moment our government stops dragging its feet and finally rethinks our relationship with Europe.2/2
The middle powers need to stand together, and today Mark Carney demonstrated exactly how that's done.
For years I've been calling for rebuilding our relationship with Europe. 1/2
Fantastic news that Enhertu is available on the NHS in England. This drug can give some breast cancer patients months, even years, more with their loved ones.
It's a huge win for patients and campaigners who never gave up.
Adding another layer of political oversight won't fix failing water companies buried in £70bn of accumulated debt.
The PM needs to address this core problem first, by bringing them under mutual ownership. Nothing else will work until he does.
It's also why I've recently tabled an amendment to the Armed Forces Bill calling for a full assessment of the reserve forces estate. 2/2
This is the result of years of Conservative cuts to defence housing, and exactly why we pushed for the Decent Homes Standard, so all military accommodation is held to a decent standard. 1/2
For those who lost someone - and the incredible emergency workers who fought through the horrors to save every life they could - I'm sure every moment of that day stays with them. On this anniversary we stand together in remembrance, and say that we too will never forget. 2/2
Twenty-five years on, we still hold in our thoughts the nearly 3,000 lives taken in the September 11th attacks. 1/2
This is something the Liberal Democrats have long campaigned for.
But for it to make a real difference, the Government must also reverse the nearly 1,000 pharmacy closures we've seen since 2016.
This week marked a vital step towards safer maternity care, with the Government committing to enshrine a Maternity Commissioner in law. This is something the LibDems have relentlessly campaigned for, but as @helenmorganlibdem.bsky.social explains here, the commitment doesn't go far enough...
