Also mutes take alt text into account. If you mute a word and it shows up in alt text, you won't see that post. I deeply appreciate people who use alt text!
Hi, I’m a sighted alt text user! Here are some reasons I use it: - Slow Internet on an airplane - I’m over 40, I have no idea who that celebrity is - Bluesky broke images again - My vision sucks and that text is too small to read otherwise - Conveys further context and authorial intent
Suck it, other book collectors.
Unless something wild happens, I won't be at Montréal. It's a glorious city, though, so I hope you can make it!
At home, "mercado" or the name of the store. Out in the world, supermarket. My neighbour says supi, as in "Making a supi run, need anything?"
hello, I am doing some research and would like to tap into the collective brains of BSKY: 1. can you share some genre or literary fiction magazines that have closed and the archive is NO LONGER ONLINE 2. the same but the archives remain online FOR NOW i would also appreciate RTs for awareness đź’€
🧵 Attention, Fellow SFF Artists and Authors -- here is my response to Must Read Magazines, after they presented an Asimov's art contract expecting me to waive all Moral Rights and Copyright to my art. And, I would strongly advise the following to my fellow pros…. 1/
In this photo, they’re at Book Hero, who posted a blog post and social media in favour of the PM. So you can, yknow, never shop there again.
Really missing the rubber chicken we used to have, coz I'd be carrying it around with me everywhere. When some chucklehead starts up with the "what is a woman?? hurr hurrr" bullshit, I'd hold that bad boy aloft and declaim, "I don't know about that, but BEHOLD! A man!"
Good news! You can turn it off in the settings.

Cadwell Turnbull's All the Hidden Places collects fourteen stories about hidden spaces amidst gods, monsters, and men; it's a collection @tobiascarroll.bsky.social claims "finds a disconcerting way to marry tenderness and horror." Read the full review at Reactor!
Ahhh envy!
Wishing him a speedy recovery back to happy waggles.
I was pretty meh about Fantasia *until* this guy came on, then I was all in. Different squids for different kids!
I don’t think I’m ever going to get the appeal of pivoting to video for podcasts. I’ve been listening to podcasts for 20 years, and never once have I thought, my God, I need to SEE these people! I’m on a walk or doing the dishes, I don’t need video.
It wasn't that he looked especially scary or anything, I was always a vampire-loving kid. It was that I had a pretty good understanding of the difference between real things and fake things on tv, but then they did a fancy ass dissolve that made the human DISAPPEAR and I was fucked.
Though I do still say, "I'm in the middle of a big bike race" at any old occasion, so there's that.
🎵Aren't you glad you're not one🎵
It was my first experience of literally being breathless due to art. And I'd only gone to see it to laugh at it!
Yes! I really miss it, to be honest.
