It's a great one, y'all! Keep your eyes peeled for that faint glow in the woods (and for the release of Cursed Morsels: A Food Systems Horror Anthology in summer 2027)!
what I love about Samir’s work is it has a full emotional palette. not only does its frequent horror not prevent it from also being romantic, sad, lonely, contemplative, beautiful, angry, and funny, the horror enhances all these feelings & allows them to be expressed in unsanitized, interesting ways
This is pure bad faith from MRM—they are not new to this business and are perfectly aware this is all bullshit. These magazines essentially no longer exist: they were bought simply to use their reputations as a trap to suck IP out of writers and artists who don't know any better.
Watching a horror TV show I won't name that shies away from looking human evil and ugliness in the face makes me glad I publish horror that pushes readers uncomfortably close to evil and ugliness.
Gore Poetics does this beautifully!

I'm pretty open about how picky I am with horror comedy, but god, Bitter Karella's novel Quaint Folk is exactly the kind of horror comedy I love. Satirical, silly, and stupid as hell in the best possible way.
The sunroof/moonroof bit and the Harry S. Ruman bit are both killing me.
9 days left in the giveaway! Enter through Oct 18th for a chance to win 18 doses of disorienting strangeness 📸🫥😵💫

"I don’t envy the marketing team who had to figure out how to promote this book. It is a horror novel in the broadest sense of the word, but even that misses the depth and breadth of what it accomplishes."

That Adler blurb makes me want to read this book so bad.
