I’m fed up with those polarising the migration debate. Emotions instead of facts rule. What have decades of emotion-driven border policies brought us? Migration still happens, smuggler networks thrive, suffering at boarders increases. And the feeling of ‘them’ against ‘us’ reached a record high.

Von der Leyen pushes for ‘group expulsion’ of people seeking asylum. Feeling the heat of the far-right, she is joining the race to be the toughest on migration. At this rate, asylum itself may vanish in the next decade.

This was not the train I was on this morning, but the one behind it. Russian bombed this at the Ukrainian-Polish border. Thankfully the alarm system works well, people where evacuated in time, and no one got hurt. Russia escalates. Again and again. We should give Ukraine the means to win!
