@starfleetpod.bsky.socialOne thing I’m so glad to see is the positive inclusion of elements from Star Trek V: The Final Frontier in Strange New Worlds. I personally love STV. It’s absolutely goofy. Not a great movie, but credit where it’s due, Shatner gave some life to their characters.

That’s NOT Ortegas and it’s NOT Una, therefore - just like the dream episode - it’s not a real development and only serves as pandering to the audience. @starfleetpod.bsky.socialIt’s been proven that most of MAGA lack any real media literacy. As they’ve grown up, they are actually recalling these franchises as children’s memories. And for children, all the action and space battles stand out over the monologues and thematic arcs of diversity and teamwork.
@starfleetpod.bsky.socialFrankly, I don’t know anyone who wants this outside of the producers and the cast. TOS already exists, why relitigate the past? This was the fundamental challenge Strange New Worlds needed to overcome.

In fact, they’d be welcome breaks and would have an opportunity to become cult fan classics. But, knowing that the sets are already auctioned off…
