Congratulations to Henri B. Kagan and Kenso Soai on receiving the 2026 #NobelPrize in Chemistry! 🎉

Their work on asymmetric synthesis helps explain how chemical reactions can favor one molecular mirror image – with implications for medicines and the chemistry of life. 👇

How does H. pylori set the stage for stomach cancer?

@sigal-lab.bsky.social has traced how the bacterium triggers a chain reaction that reprograms cells in the stomach lining and drives precancerous changes that can lead to stomach cancer.

The findings are published in @natcomms.nature.com.

How do calcium channels open in sync?

Like cogs in a clock, neighboring RyR1 channels help set each other in motion. Researchers at #mdcBerlin have now revealed how this “coupled gating” works — and why faulty coordination may contribute to muscle disease.

Caveolae help cells withstand mechanical stress, take up nutrients, and regulate signaling. How are these tiny membrane structures stabilized?

#mdcBerlin researchers have now resolved the structure of the EHD2 protein chain that does the job.
