Utility bills are rising, and District residents deserve answers. I introduced the Public Trust in Utility Regulation Act to make utility companies show what they’re asking us to pay for.

Transparency shouldn't be optional.

Getting help shouldn’t be another hurdle. Today, I voted to advance the Automatic Enrollment for Utility Affordability Programs Act. If we already know a family qualifies for help with electric, gas, or water bills, we should connect them to it and not make them prove it all over again.

DC is mourning Allen “Uzikee” Nelson, a visionary sculptor whose work honoring Black history and culture shaped our city. In Ward 4, his Paul Robeson sculpture is part of the fabric of Petworth. My heart is with his wife, fellow artist Januwa, his family, and all who loved him. Rest in power.

Great meeting with DC Flight, our city's first professional women’s volleyball team! 🏐💜 We talked about the power of girls seeing women compete and lead at the highest level, and why every young person deserves the opportunity to play. See you at The Anthem in 2027!

You have built your lives here. And you are an important part of the District we call home. You are not alone.” Orange brush strokes emphasize key words and phrases. We’re sorry to hear that you’ve been having frustrating experiences with 311 online. Are you using the app or website? The app was updated in July to address submission issues. If that doesn’t work, you can call 311. It’s important for 311 to work, so thank you for flagging; we’ll notify OUC.
