@puffer One Cut For The Dead is a great one, one of my all time favourite films, but I think it is more comedy than horror. Perhaps a horromedy. 😊

Here's your yearly October gentle reminder that I wrote on my blog about 31 of my favorite horror movies you may or may not have heard of. One of these years I'm going to do a Part II.

I approve of this method of proving humanity. Much better than asking me to tick all the boxes containing buses or whatever. (Seen at a UK National Archives survey)

A question asking the user to prove that they are a human by answering the question, "Which of the following best describes your involvement in creating the Domesday Book in the year 1086? I was ..."

There are several options, including "William the conqueror and commissioned the Domesday book"

I should go see a shrink to understand why I like taking pictures of the sky.

A photo that mostly shows a sku, blue with a huge white cloud looming above the land. Makes you think of the anime Ghibli clouds. In the foreground is a grassy patch of land, a hill, full of weeds and in the mid-ground is a hint of houses, peeking from behind a hill.

Why is there always a big cloud at sunset?

It is just after sunset and the sky is mostly a purple color, I think that is purple, but with a brilliant splash of sunset colours somewhere in the middle of the image. The foreground had the almost-silhouette of a house under construction and the hint of a swamp in a valley.

Progress!
A medieval manuscript has confounded scholars for centuries. Have they been reading it wrong all this time?

#silentsunday

A tall flag pole with a flat on towers above several tall houses on a hill, giving the impression of a castle or fortress. The hill is covered with vegetation and a low income city suburb sprawls at the bottom of this hill. The structures at the top belong to, rumour has it, the military in Uganda, and more rumour has it that this is where security forces torture opponents of the regime. Over the last many years, people are kidnapped in broad daylight and shoved into vans (called "drones" here because they move so fast) and some of them are never heard of again. Those who come out say they were taken to a basement and tortured, simply for criticising or opposing the regime.

Off season fruits are so annoying. Either bland or sour. All the fruits I bought this week, mangoes, pawpaw, pineapple, taste like their creator forgot about sugar. So I'm turning them into juice, at least that's drinkable.

And the pawpaw, I haven't met this […]

Photo of a pawpaw cut in the middle, it is orange and there is a ring of pockets of seeta around a central part that was a bit hard and uneatable. Weird fruit, if you ask me.

Yesterday I gifted a wallpaper to my patrons. I made it from the cover of my new book. These are some of the thank-you artworks I make for those who support me. Others are a new short story every month, an ebook regularly (at least once a quarter) and a print book once every six months. Yes, and […]

I just sent this pot to a collector in Brooklyn. I'm so grateful. The form of the vessel is inspired by Gwari water pots made by Ladi Kwali (Nigeria's most renowned potter) and other women potters of that region whose names we do not know. The surface design […]

@Shanmonster You can cut a wine bottle )or any other bottle) and use the lower half as a kind of lampshade when you put a candle in it, that will offer some protection to your papers (at least there is less risk of the candle falling and starting a fire) while also adding to the aesthetics to […]

Life hack. Sprinking salt on a candle increases its lifespan. It burns slower, and longer. I learned this as a kid, growing up with constant loadshedding and candles being a bit too pricey. These days candles are rare as people prefer eletric lights, the harsh […]

#WritersCoffeeClub 26 Sept: How does your faith feature in your works?
