The violent threats sent to Islamic schools across the country—including right here in Ottawa West-Nepean—are utterly horrific and completely unacceptable. No one should ever be the target of hate. I stand with our Muslim community against Islamophobia. Hate has no place here or anywhere in Canada.

Rooted in Jewish values, they offer connection, culturally appropriate care, and a sense of belonging to people of diverse backgrounds in need of a helping hand. So grateful to have them in our community and I thank the staff, board, and volunteers for another year of service to our community. (2/2)

31 McEwen, an Ottawa Community Housing seniors community, was hit hard by the flooding this summer. So it was lovely to spend an afternoon connecting with neighbours and sharing some joy in the community after such a tough experience. (1/2)

We know what works: get the government back in the business of building deeply affordable housing and invest in supportive housing. It’s time to focus on real solutions, or we’ll continue to hit new records every year. (2/2)

Homelessness is at record levels in Ontario and the FAO says its on track to keep rising as the Ford government’s spending is going down. They’ve had eight years to tackle the problem and they’ve only made it worse. (1/2)

Today on World Suicide Prevention Day, we are reminded that no one has to carry their heaviest burdens alone. Mental healthcare is healthcare. Creating a safer, more caring community means ensuring everyone can access support when they need it most, without long wait times or financial barriers.

It was a pleasure to attend Barb's art exhibition at the Shenkman Arts Centre and present her with a certificate of recognition for her well-deserved OAC grant. When we support local artists, we invest in the heart of our communities. Congratulations, Barb!

This is the same agency that took over five years to close a single constituent complaint. People deserve more accessibility. (2/2)

I wrote to the CEO of the HCRA demanding hybrid access for their annual public meetings. Their response? A flat-out refusal. How can a regulator currently being raked over the coals by the Auditor General claim to value transparency by holding a virtual-only meeting in the middle of a weekday? (1/2)

Proud to spend Labour Day marching alongside union members, workers, and advocates here in Ottawa. It was a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when workers stand together. Thank you to everyone who showed up and continues to fight for stronger workplaces, better conditions, and workers.

Wonderful to celebrate the great work being done at Algonquin College alongside faculty, staff, student association executives, and the board of governors. Hearing stories of lives changed and community partnerships is a good reminder of why we need to properly fund and support our public colleges.
