Dogwood on the Merced
The Merced flows strong and hard and throughout the valley the dogwoods blossom. Most of the dogwoods in Yosemite have a very nice white blossom as seen here.

Dogwood On the Merced

A luminous white dogwood blossom stretches across the foreground, its delicate petals glowing like silk in the soft spring light. Tiny veins trace through each petal, revealing subtle shades of cream and pearl that catch the eye with remarkable detail. At the flower's center, a cluster of fresh green buds adds a vibrant touch of life and color.

Behind the blossom, the Merced River flows in a smooth tapestry of blue, turquoise, and silver. The water appears almost painterly, its motion softened into silky ribbons that suggest the constant rush of snowmelt descending through Yosemite Valley. Flecks of reflected sunlight shimmer across the surface, creating a cool, refreshing backdrop.

The scene evokes the crisp scent of spring in the Sierra Nevada. One can almost feel the cool river breeze drifting through the valley, hear the gentle roar of rushing water, and sense the warmth of the sun settling onto the riverbank after a long mountain winter. The blossom stands poised above the moving water, creating a striking contrast between fragile beauty and the river's enduring strength.

The composition invites viewers into a quiet Yosemite moment where the season is changing, waterfalls are swelling with snowmelt, and nature is awakening. The dogwood becomes both the focal point and a symbol of renewal, suspended against the flowing blues of the Merced in a scene that feels peaceful, fresh, and timeless.

San Francisco High Rise Abstract

This building is known for it's address, 140 New Montgomery. After taking a number of captures I decided that this is the one. I really liked the lines of this building.

San Francisco High Rise Abstract

A soaring wall of glass and steel rises like a geometric canyon in the heart of San Francisco, its crisp lines drawing the eye upward into a maze of repeating patterns and reflections. Sunlight glides across the building's sleek façade, illuminating cool shades of silver, blue, and charcoal while pockets of shadow add depth and mystery. Every window becomes a fragment of an abstract puzzle, reflecting pieces of sky and neighboring structures in shifting tones and textures. The composition transforms architecture into rhythm, with strong verticals and diagonals creating a feeling of movement despite the stillness of the scene. The image invites the viewer to pause and study the interplay of light, form, and symmetry, discovering new shapes and visual pathways with each glance. What might normally be seen as a familiar downtown skyscraper becomes a striking study of modern design, where precision, pattern, and perspective merge into an elegant urban abstraction.

Day 2 Wrestling/creating UV resin Bag Charms & Necklaces. What works & what doesn't. Just worked out why bubbles happen in final top layer with the art. See ALT details. My daughter @articulatedimagery.bsky.social & I will be opening an Etsy shop soon and have a few of our art pieces in the charms

Minus reflections of the lighting to show theses charms the two top ones surprising came out fine. Bottom row shows Failures or rather Discoveries on what works and what doesn't in the process to create the final polished piece. A few of my charms will be double sided with a different art piece on the other side. I thought the glitter would make the roller skates show better from the clear printing but it doesn't work - LOL abstract! The silver paint offsets the artwork nicely. One thing tried was to put color shifting spray paint on the bag charm chain. That experiment was an utter failure as it looked horrible....so all those chains had to be striped of the paint back to the shiny silver.

2 weeks ago hiking the trail around Devils Tower. Our knees & legs were killing us but well worth it to experience this serendipitous moment.

Time seemed to stop around Devils Tower, where craggy rock met the endless blue. Beyond the scattered pines, the mornings setting moon descended toward the summit, nearly brushing the rugged crown. The Tower and the Moon were two old travelers sharing a silent greeting as their paths crossed.

My husband and I were hiking the rocky intermediate portion of the Red Bed Trail on the back end of Devils Tower regretting the choice to have taken the path off to lower grounds through the Prairie Town Trail. Our knees and legs were starting to ache. But then looking up we spotted the moon setting close to the Tower and were very glad to experience a special moment in nature.

Devils Tower National Monument located in Wyoming rises 867 feet from its base and stands 1,267 feet above the Belle Fourche River. Sacred to the Native Americans there are six tribes that have cultural or geographical ties to the monolith with the Lakota having strongest connections. Names for it include Bear Lodge/ Mato Thipila or Ghost Mountain. The Devils Tower National Monument was established on September 24, 1906 by President Theodore Roosevelt becoming the first U.S. national monument.
