We're floored by this lyrical review of our latest, The Interpretant, which was published today by @comicsjournal.bsky.social! The piece was written by @hecuba.bsky.social, whose work we have admired since reading her review of Martha Verschaffel's 2022 book, Passages. www.tcj.com/reviews/the-...

It is indeed, Dave! As funny as this movie is, there are multiple sequences like the one above and the skating scene that are so beautiful.

This sequence from the 1969 film, A Boy Named Charlie Brown where Schroeder performs Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 8, is one of the most elegant and stunning animated moments we've ever seen. You feel that Melendez and his team were inspired by 60s Soviet animation.

New to archive: Reporter #1 by Dylan Williams. First published by Aeon in '97 & reprinted by Williams in '02 through his company Sparkplug. Williams made some of his generations most unique comics. They've slipped out of print since his passing in '11. Read:

Rest in peace to the wonderful, Eva Marie Saint 💙 We love the way she underplayed her performance with Brando this scene from On the Waterfront. Such a tremendous talent.

Just up on @ink19.bsky.social is our review of Julia Loktev's My Undesirable Friends Part II - Exile, the powerful follow-up to Loktev's 2024 doc on the last independent TV news station in Russia. Exile traces the struggles of the journalists who scattered across the globe post-Ukraine invasion.

Thank you! The staff is so welcoming and helpful and the projection of Manhunter was outstanding! We're thrilled to see more films during our visit.

We're tabling our newest comic at the @nashcomicartfest.bsky.social on Saturday, but tonight, we had to visit the @belcourttheatre.bsky.social to see the new restoration of Michael Mann's Manhunter! Amazing theater they have here! Good folks.

We still have until 5/2027, but there's a real chance the overall library project will not reach its goal & the money raised will be refunded. If you want to see this archive grow AND access it in a physical place--in NYC, the birthplace of comics--please donate!

As today is National Silent Film Day, we have to post the trailer for one of our favorites, Limite, from 1931. It's incredible. Mário Peixoto directed this when he was in his early 20s, and yet, he had the touch of a master filmmaker.

Rest in power to Slinger Francisco, known to us all as The Mighty Sparrow ORTT CM OBE, who passed today at 91. Sparrow was The Calypso King of the World. Blessed with a stunning voice and immense lyrical talent, he boldly raised up social issues and shared history through song.

So glad you liked it, Sean, and we're very happy that many of the the protagonists of her previous film were there tonight and all of them are still with us, especially after what happened to Lena.

A great review by Lindsay of a book that we loved as children! So glad that D&Q reissued it.

@plasticgrapes.bsky.socialSep 27, 2026, 8:45 PM

We just saw and reviewing it this weekend! You'll love it, Sean. Not as intense as the part one, which was top ten for us last year, but no less engrossing as the journalists are scattered throughout the globe.

Thanks, Ken! I (Generoso here) remember Fightin' Army from when I was a kid. It was set during the Korean War, no?
