As a caucus led by all 13 openly-LGBTQI+ U.S. Representatives, we know that coming out is a deeply personal moment that belongs to each LGBTQI+ person.

Whether you’re out, still in the closet, or somewhere in between, we’ll always be here—fighting for YOU. #NationalComingOutDay

Even as LGBTQI+ Americans face pressure to hide themselves, our community refuses to go back in the closet. Together, we're going to keep working to build a world where no one feels they need to hide who they are or who they love.

In the 119th Congress, lesbian Members of Congress have been at the forefront in the fight for equality, as they also fight for an Affordable America and a government that serves the people. We couldn't be prouder to be co-led by every openly-lesbian U.S. Representative!

Reckless cuts & delays in funding for HIV research networks have some researchers worried their funding may be cut off by the Trump Admin, threatening the advancements we've made in the fight against HIV & AIDS. Trump's cuts are needlessly putting lives on the line.

Trump & Hegseth's repeated use of anti-trans slurs is further proof of this Administration's animus towards the trans community. They're proving again and again that all they care about is maximizing cruelty. REAL leaders don't need to use dehumanizing slurs in order to lead.

Real leaders don't need slurs to govern.

Trump's reckless policies are leading to LGBTQI+ asylum seekers being deported to countries where consensual same-sex sexual activity is criminalized or where human rights abuses are happening against LGBTQI+ people. These inhumane deportations are putting people in danger.

Never before have the Good Guys been the ones banning books or threatening funding for public libraries & schools over the inclusion of LGBTQI+ stories.

We’ll never stop fighting against government censorship! #BannedBooksWeek

There has never been a world without LGBTQI+ people—and there never will be.

A world without lesbians; gays; bisexuals; trans people; queer people; intersex people has never existed and never will.

LGBTQI+ people have always been part of the American story—and we’re committed to making sure our stories are never forgotten. Our members will always fight to preserve our history and ensure future generations can learn from the people who helped shape our country.

Every student deserves to go to school without facing harassment or discrimination. But Trump's Ed Dept. are weakening those protections to normalize attacking LGBTQ+ students. Shameful. The WWE Secretary should resign if she's not going to protect ALL students.

October is LGBTQ+ History Month, a time to honor the courage, resilience, and impact of LGBTQ+ Americans who have helped make our country stronger. Let us honor the bravery of the heroes who came before us by continuing the fight for a more just and equal nation for the generations to come.

The 988 “Press 3” crisis line for LGBTQ+ young people is back. After the Trump Administration shut it down, I worked with allies and advocates to secure funding for its restoration and pressure the Administration to bring it back online. Now we need to make sure it stays there.

Proud to be part of the successful push to restore this lifesaving support line! So grateful to all who joined us in this effort to ensure our LGBTQ+ youth have the resources they need and deserve.

Yes again, when we fight back, we can win. And we did NOT give up this fight.   This is a big deal and will save lives among LGBTQI+ youth across our country.

🎉GREAT NEWS🎉 988 has resumed specialized services for LGBTQI+ youth in crisis after Congress forced the Trump Admin to restore these lifesaving services. Trump cruelly cut these services—but CEC founder @baldwin.senate.gov and our members fought back, and got them restored!

Equality Caucus celebrates return of 988's specialized services for LGBTQI+ youth in crisis. Read more at the link in our bio.“For years, young LGBTQI+ people in crisis could turn to the 988 hotline for help from someone specially trained to meet their unique needs, but the Trump Administration made a cruel, conscious choice to cut those services last year. Now, thanks to the work of Congressional Equality Caucus Founder Senator Tammy Baldwin and our members, 988’s specialized services for LGBTQI+ youth in crisis have finally resumed. The bill mandating the restoration of these services became law in February—it should never have taken this long for the Administration to restore these lifesaving services. They dragged their feet however they could, even though they knew young LGBTQI+ people out there were in crisis. As we celebrate the restoration of these services, we will continue fighting to pass bipartisan legislation—led by CEC Vice Chair Krishnamoorthi, Co-Chair Davids, and Rep. Moulton in the House—to ensure this lifeline never goes dark again.” Rep. Mark Takano, hair of the Congressional Equality Caucus

Teachers in states without supportive LGBTQ+ youth laws & policies report higher rates of anti-LGBTQ+ student harassment than those in states with supportive policies. It doesn't have to be this way. Every kid should be go to school without fear of discrimination & harassment.

CEC Chair @repmarktakano.bsky.social & @demwomencaucus.bsky.social Chair @fernandez.house.gov know Trump doesn't really care about protecting students because his Title IX rule undermines protections for survivors of sexual violence & ignores Title IX's protections for LGBTQI+ & other students.

Democratic Women’s Caucus & Congressional Equality Caucus Denounce Trump’s Cruel Title IX Rule. Read more at the link in our bio.“Trump’s Department of Education has obsessively weaponized Title IX to attack trans people under the false pretense of protecting girls and women, but this rule is further proof that that pretense has always been a lie. A Senate report found that, under Trump and Secretary McMahon, the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights didn’t reach a resolution agreement for a single sexual harassment or violence case in 2025, proving how this Administration has failed to protect students. Now, they’ve recodified a rule that weakens protections for students, especially protections against sexual harassment and violence. All students, including LGBTQI+ students, deserve to go to school free of discrimination and harassment, including sexual harassment and violence, but this rule is just the latest example of how Trump and McMahon don’t care about keeping students safe.” Rep. Mark Takano, Chair of the Congressional Equality Caucus and Senior Member of the Committee on Education“Education Secretary Linda McMahon’s reinstatement of Trump’s reckless 2020 Title IX policy will severely weaken protections against the sexual assault and harassment, and discrimination of all students. The Trump administration’s claim that this will address the pervasive culture of sexual assault in schools is a dangerous lie. Make no mistake, it will leave our most vulnerable students who face harassment and bullying further at risk. This policy will create additional barriers and delays for survivors navigating the Title IX process. We have already called out the administration for resolving ZERO sexual misconduct cases. The administration is choosing to use the safety of girls as a ploy to perpetuate hate against LGBTQI+ students. The Democratic Women’s Caucus will continue the fight to strengthen and expand Title IX protections until all girls are able to attend school free from the fear of violence and discrimination. If Republicans truly want to prioritize the safety of women and girls in school, they would protect survivors. This Administration has done everything it can to minimize the voices and needs of survivors of sexual assault." Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández, Chair of the Democratic Women’s Caucus

Over the weekend, Trump illegally clawed back funding for the DOJ's Community Relations Service (AKA "America's Peacemaker"), which is tasked with preventing & responding to hate crimes. This latest attack on CRS is another example of how Trump is putting Americans at risk.

Trump uses illegal tactic to rescind funding for America's Peacemaker and federal programs that support LGBTQI+ people. Read more at the link in our bio.

Trump’s attempts to restrict federal HIV grant funding from going to organizations that acknowledge the existence of trans people is discrimination, plain & simple.   Doctors should be able to treat ALL their patients without interference from anti-equality extremist politicians.

🎉GOOD NEWS🎉 A federal judge rejected the DOJ's latest attempt to move a lawsuit over 17 trans servicemembers' revoked retirement pay out of court. The servicemembers, who were forced out under Trump's cruel ban, can stay in court as they fight for what they were promised.
