(and then I kept inflicting the same generational trauma to my own students 😂)
bruh nothing prepared me for my HS teacher deploying Frixion markers, different colors each week. So YOU and EVERYONE in your neighborhood knows when you make the same mistakes THREE lessons in a row.
ptsd from hearing the resistance of my adviser’s carmine red pencil on the urtext scores (carmine red and carmine red only)
but that cycle would only be chopin ballades 1-4 and all of them 69 420! so it won’t pass the requirements (i think…)
i got so tired of having to invent a new password every couple months. my strategy now is to find a collection work, eg bobby schumann’s carnaval, and go thru each mvt for each new pass, eg SchumannPreambule91*, SchumannPierrot92*, etc.
idk if the ancient hebrew folks hated being enslaved in egypt so much, why didn’t they just leave before YHWH sent moses to help? /s
Carrie, what’s ur take of ppl who put cinnamon in their chili
The apostle Paul gave valuable instructions to the Christians at Philippi about how they should live: “FAFAAEEEEEF”
I checked out the children’s bulletins for tomorrow and this one!!! This one should be illegal!!!
(just wanna clarify im not saying this entire shit is not messed up. i benefit from opt too--my first year on my current job was on opt while i worked on my marriage-based green card app)
also since the unis are the ones footing the bill, the ones feeling the impact the most are likely smaller/more regional unis. for ex, i think uo admin wouldnt feel happy paying 100k but they are capable of doing so.
this recent news is a departure from the prev proposal, where they proposed a fee for all opt folks regardless of majors. article mentioned proposal is for stem folks, who are eligible for 3 years OPT. (humanities folks only get 1 year OPT) so maybe we're off the hook...?
may or may not happen: “you need to be fluent with both clef reading. we want you to be vers, not pillow princess.”
The Barron textbook we’re using is written by someone with a music ed degree. Clearly experienced with k-12 but not necessarily well-versed in theory.
I’m now curious if the folks designing AP MT exam questions are actual music theorists.
Thank uuuu. Honestly I feel confident I can prep a student well for a music theory placement exam, but college board AP exams don’t test just students on MT chops. Wordings in multiple choice questions can be annoyingly unclear!! (We did a practice quiz today.)
also me: just be glad that current music editors give us bach’s works in treble clef instead of the original soprano clef
my poor student's rxn after learning about the C clef: why would you need them? what do you mean the C can be on any staff lines??? me: (sigh) it's ok. u just need to know enough. im not A+ good on tenor clef but i still got A in college theory lol.
oope, today i learned im supposed to prep them for the AP MT bc they're not taking the class from their high school so now i need to GET GUT.
is it just me or do others also experience wack internal pulse* when they’re on pms? *like speeding up or can’t keep stable tempo not body pulse
