I admit I was wrong here. ICE allows chains on kids as young as 12 👀 "If it is necessary to restrain a minor, always consider size, age, gender, and cognitive ability when considering the type of approved restraints to apply. Minors under 12 years of age will never be placed in full restraints."
My man ended USAID, condemning millions to death
been on parental leave but just filed this update on the situation at the border.
though the tree-sit is over for now, it was not a failure… a movement is building to resist ecocide and band together!
Rhetoric like this is going to do more to ensure that young generations do not take the Holocaust seriously than any actual denier ever could.
The power, and the weight, of “both/and” ( vs. either/or)
A completely overwhelming tension, nearly all of the time!
This has been a load bearing statement for me these last three years. It's important to contextualize it inside the efforts people were making, and have continued to make, to stop the genocide in Gaza. The tension is still overwhelming in a lot of ways, I think.
Gonna share @stschrader1.bsky.social's new book again because it is and will continue to be relevant. www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/stuar...

For the new issue of @hammerandhope.bsky.social, @brianhochman.bsky.social and I spoke to the great @olufemiotaiwo.bsky.social about our new 50th anniversary edition of the Church Committee Report and what it teaches us about the past, present, and future of how the US government disrupts movements.
One of the reasons that it’s vital blue cities unfuck their housing supply is that sanctuary cities probably aren’t viable long term politically otherwise. Need housing to be cheap/abundant if you don’t want there to be blowback from ICE/shithead county sheriffs funneling precarious people to you
It’s a short article, so Tim couldn’t get into the longer history that goes back to groups like International Labor Defense and even the origins of the ACLU. But I talk about it in my new book, publishing on March 9: www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/dan-b...
The launch of the Defendant’s Union is a tragic but welcome development. I was glad to speak with @onofftherecord.bsky.social about why and how it fits within a longer effort to yoke defendants together as part of a larger movement
In a stunning announcement Tuesday afternoon, Christa Pike’s attorneys said she is “conscious and speaking” almost a week after surviving Tennessee’s attempt to execute her.
Tennessee is planning new youth prisons, bucking a nationwide trend, ProPublica reports:
It was a pleasure to chat with Greg on this week’s episode. Check it out if you haven’t already
The good thing about 2026 is that it's clear that the white supremacists are at the helm. You don't have to argue with Chait et al. You never did. You don't have to read their work because they do not have the range. You can't learn anything.
