I saw this alcove in a ceiling and immediately visualised platforming into it as an egg. Oh no... I have over 200 hours in Oeuf (the 3D platformer video game), and it shows.

A square alcove in a ceiling, with metal panelling. An emergency sprinkler extends downward from it. The top of the recess has a sloped surface with what might be handles for opening a service panel.

This photo was taken in a restaurant where there is a recess like this above every table.
