10yrs ago today, JC member/CopWatcher/former staffer Daniel "Majesty" Sanchez, transitioned. Majesty was an artist, activist, organizer and Justice Committee leader and a friend and comrade to many of us. Please keep Majesty and his family (blood and chosen) in your hearts today and always.

13 years since the landmark Floyd ruling, NYPD is still #StopAndFrisk-ing & lying to cover it up. Yesterday's monitor report shows systematic underreporting, disabled body cameras, and reclassified encounters - and we still don't see any discipline. Read full statement:https://buff.ly/bkCivOZ

7yrs ago, on Sept. 29, 2019, #AntonioWilliams was waiting for a cab when plainclothes NYPD officers jumped out of an unmarked car & murdered him in a hail of 15 bullets. None of the officers responsible have been held accountable & Det. Beddows was allowed to retire without discipline. #NeverForget

Today marks 14yrs since NYPD killed #MohamedBah. Mrs. Bah called 911 for an ambulance because her son was in emotional + physical distress but NYPD arrived first, forced their way into Mohamed’s apartment, shot and killed him execution style, and then tried to cover it up. #NeverForget

"There’s just a cycle of impunity that is ever-present in the NYPD, and the lack of discipline is what keeps this cycle going." -Divad, JC member

Great article from @akelalacy.bsky.social in @theintercept.com today, on data from @legalaidnyc.bsky.social

NYPD consistently refuses to meaningfully discipline officers who kill and abuse NYers, perpetuating the violence. Without critical action from the Mamdani administration, we'll continue to be harmed by cops and then forced to pay for their impunity with our tax dollars.
