@richbruchal.com I'm always torn, better to get it over with more quickly, even if it's really rough? Or to be a bit less uncomfortable but for a longer time? It was a bad 24-36 hours but I'm pretty much recovered at this point.
I got my flu and covid shots yesterday. They are positively kicking my ass! That was a rough night of sleep.
I don't want to brag, but I'm the youngest person in the CVS vaccine waiting area by at least 40 years.
If you're going to spend the weekend at a youth hockey tournament, at least make sure they have 49 different alcoholic drinks.
@ang6666 Damn, I forgot you guys picked up Ivar Stenberg. Sharks are going to be a wagon for the next decade+
@ang6666 Amen!
Goalie goal!
Ooof, that was an incredibly awkward post-period interview between AJ Mleczko and Jack Hughes. Her last comment was something like, "It's good to see you healthy again, we'll have to wrap you up in bubble wrap and give you some plastic cutlery."
He was not amused. I was, though.
My college kid found a wallet on the street on his way home last night. He wasn't sure what to do with it, so he brought it home and managed to find the kid's email from the name on his ID. He almost immediately got back a profoundly grateful (and quite surprised!) reply that ended with, "I'm […]
Can't argue with my kid's logic here.
"I just don't trust the pizza around here [central PA]." Spoken like a kid born and raised in Connecticut, really can't argue with him.
We had a great time tailgating at Penn State yesterday. Decided to try something new and brought the pizza oven with the newly acquired propane attachment we bought along the way. We made a bunch of breakfast food and then pizzas in it and it all went […]
My teammate who's responsble for platform stuff on our embedded device recently removed vim and left nano, on the argument that we don't need both and we'll save space by getting rid of vim. The real kicker is he symlinked /usr/bin/vi to /usr/bin/nano so that explains why there are now random […]
We have our summer work picnic this afternoon, the third day of fall. Really on brand for us, honestly.
For example, I'm just seeing all these posts about the new Google laptop thing. What I don't understand is why anyone would want one?
Work has really been interfering with my fediverse scrolling time during the day. It's unacceptable, really.
This article about the ASU hockey player who collapsed from the heat during a workout is equally heartbreaking and infuriating. As ever, if you find yourself the subject of a Katie Strang article, you have really fucked up […]
We got Apple TV a couple of years ago specifically so we could watch Ted Lasso, but we kept getting sidetracked by other shows. We finally started it and are about halfway through the first season. So far it's... fine? Maybe it's been built up by so many people to an unrealistic and […]
Played a new (to me) course yesterday, only about 35 minutes from home. First practice shot out of the car, I turned over a forehand into a headwind without realizing how tall the grass was. I looked for a very long time but never found it, so I did the most logical thing and ordered 3 new discs […]
First impressions are quite positive: Imported existing data on my phone, which I read is the best way to preserve things such as passkeys. That was super easy. Installed flatpak desktop app and browser extension. Tested on mobile and desktop with some existing logins, TOTP, and passkeys, and […]
