"Error" The old Upton Sinclair quote is relevant here I think. "It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it."
My last two posts on here have highlighted two massive errors in the Tory policies announced this week. If this was the Greens, or Labour, or the Lib Dems who had announced policies this broken the right wing media would be all over them announcing they were "unfit to govern". Tories do it and...
Remember how they excoriated Dianne Abbott for making a mistake with one of her figures? Where's that same rigour here when the Tories are out by nearly half a trillion quid?
Seriously. This is a big part of the problem. The BBC "both sides"ing absolutely everything. Even stuff like this which is about what our security services know about election interference. It *does not* require any Tufton Street response. At all.
This is an absolutely key point that so many on the winning side of the referendum seem happy to handwave away. If Russia influenced the result *at all* that matters hugely. If we don't all accept that as a principle we're in a dangerous place.
6,556 Twitter followers. No Facebook presence. Thanks for leaving your Weatherspoon bar stool long enough to make this valuable contribution, lads. *Definitely* equal weight to the prime minister. Great work, BBC!
New from me on Political Sandbox:
Not Everything Has Two Sides
The PM said the security services told him Russia interfered in the Brexit referendum. The BBC found a pro-Brexit lobby group to rebut things he never said.

The correct response to this would be to make all the evidence used to draw the conclusion public, then challenge Farage to respond, otherwise people will just pick their opinions on the matter based purely on who they trust.
Corrupt to the core
But it was placing this fellow within the BBC that was their real coup 🤨
Pollsters Redfield and Wilton, which have consistently produced some of the highest figures for Reform of any firm, employed a senior aide to Farage to oversee their political polling, without disclosing his role. A second Farage aide was also used to place exclusive polling by R+W in the press

I read earlier that the attacks on Russian data centres has taken out many of the pro Trump bots over on Twitter. It’s definitely not a bad move. Just bad for Trump.
If Russia is engaged in a huge online influence campaign against European states then it might not be entirely surprising that Ukrainian strikes are targeting that capability.

Trump’s obeisance to Putin has been established beyond even the vaguest scintilla of doubt; the possibility of another January 6-style assault on US democracy after/during the mid-terms is clearly acute and ‘we’ are still wary of calling fascism fascism. These are the moments…
What a weird world we live in - Ukraine hits a data centre deep in Russia - Irish twitter users see racist posts about IPAS centres in Offaly fall off a cliff
