I've never worked for or with a website where the search engine really worked well. I used to Google things on my own sites rather than using the built in search. Now Google is so bad I use this for everything: udm14.com

Ahahaha amazing, thank you!

I suppose I should be grateful. He's made me more meticulous about kitchen hygiene, including cleaning up before eating instead of after. Especially since he figured out how to pry lids off closed pots and pull the counter grill open to lick the grease. But it does feel like a daily battle of wits.

Every time I release him, it's like letting kids out in the yard for an Easter egg hunt. He scours the entire kitchen and then most of the main floor, looking for anything I might have left out, left open, or spilled. Even anything that just smells like food residue that he could lick for a while.

I have to lock up Worst Cat when I feed the cats, or he'll bolt all of his food, then run to steal the girls' food, which he can't digest. I often use this time to cook, since it's the only time I can work in the kitchen without him constantly trying to stick his whole head in whatever I'm doing.

Gorgeous! 🤩

@tasharobinson.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 6:29 PM

Yeah, that was my question, it seemed like it'd be hard to accommodate more than a couple people.

@tasharobinson.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 5:48 PM

Me too! I'm already double booked today but it seems like a fun time. Do you know whether they have screenings on that retro TV? Or do they set up a screen?

Oh, is it hay-snail migration season again already?

@tasharobinson.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 5:40 PM

The rest of the store looks like this. It's the kind of place where there's something weird and fun everywhere you point your eyes.

Another picture from last night at The Brewed. A lot of the decor there is collectibles in cabinets or arranged on displays, but this is a literal work of art.

A sculpture descending from a ceiling of a fanged white worm emerging from the mouth of a black and white striped worm, patterned after the sandworm in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice.

I've never seen it, and this is the year!

@tasharobinson.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 3:56 AM

Runner up: the bathroom door murals.

At The Brewed on Milwaukee, which has absolutely incredible horror movie decor. But this takes the everliving cake.

A wall clock in the spirit of the classic moving-eyes-and-tail cat clock, except it's bright orange and it's the creepy cat thing from the horror movie House.

Hey Chicago-area TTRPG fans: This event has the potential to be rad as hell.

@tasharobinson.bsky.socialOct 8, 2026, 9:52 PM

I would totes eat those cookies.

Nothing but respect for @tkingfisher.com's Digger

"I'd bake them homemade cookies" is both a more supportive goal and a more wholesome one. Also leaves you still alive to make cookies for the next cinnamon-roll character that sails through your timeline.

100% down for "I'd cook a meal for them" replacing "I'd die for them" as the hyperbolic response to a character someone likes, animal they see online, etc. Most of those characters and creatures would probably appreciate a meal more than a death anyway.

... Well damn, now I wish I'd watched an earlier show so I could have discussed it with them. Or at least eavesdropped and had some idea what the argument/agreement points were.
