Taking a Break

I’m just back from a wonderful trip to the Canary Islands and I feel like I’m in need of continuing my break from screens and social media for a bit. I’ll catch up with you all and your fabulous photos and posts soon. Go well, my friends 🤗🥰

A tranquil coastal sunset scene with the sea stretching into the distance. The sky is painted in soft gradients of pastel pink, orange, and purple, with wispy clouds catching the last light. In the foreground, several tall palm trees stand in silhouette, their fronds gently fanned out. To the right, a dark, rugged headland curves into the water, and below it, faint outlines of buildings and terraces suggest a seaside resort.

Bright sunlight bursts into the frame from the upper left, sending long rays across a deep blue sky above a vast blanket of white clouds seen from an airplane window. Below, scattered cotton-like clouds cast soft shadows on the blue ocean, where patches of sunlight shimmer on the water’s surface. Lens flares sparkle across the sky, emphasising the dazzling brightness and the immense, open view above the cloud tops. ☀️✈️

Corridor of Light
Puerto Calero, Lanzarote
I flew in yesterday and was hoping to get this shot as I’d done something similar here before. Thankfully it worked.

A dramatic, high-contrast black and white photograph of a long hotel corridor in Lanzarote. On the left, a repetitive line of tall glass doors allows bright sunlight to stream in, casting a series of sharp, parallel horizontal shadows across the dark, tiled floor. The floor tiles are laid in a diamond pattern, and the perspective of the narrow hallway leads the eye toward a dark, shadowed area at the far end. The interplay of light and deep shadow creates a striking, rhythmic geometric effect throughout the interior.
