Hi #PortfolioDay!
I'm an Architectural Illustrator and 3D Artist from Scotland. I'm passionate about heritage architecture. I bring long-lost buildings back to life in 3D, combining careful research and measured archaeological survey data.
#Blender3D pro. 20+ years' experience.
he's just a little guy
Students made their first minicomics in my intro making course - mostly standard format but this student, a first time maker(!), did something so off the charts Iβm still reeling from it! & he made like 12 of them for his classmates! A paper engineering feat of flipbookery as well as killer drawing!
Aah that sucks! Get better soon π
Actually very funny looking back to July last year when I was genuinely convinced that I would get out of hospital and get straight back to life as normal. 'I can do conventions,' I would say, before falling asleep for several hours from the exhaustion of getting dressed, haha.
If I can get one little project finished this year I'll be happy tbh.
Little frustrating given I just came back after having to cancel most of my events last year and I'd hoped during that time to at least have a lot of new stuff to show for it, but as it turns out recovering from a serious illness takes time and energy. Who knew.
Next year I may take a break from doing conventions, or only do one or two events. Many reasons for this, including that I'm a student again, but also I think I just need time to make new things without feeling rushed.
This is making the rounds on Tumblr again, so I'm sharing it here for anyone struggling to put Accurate Boat Stuff in their creative work. (These are excerpts from my comic A Week at Sea with OHP, which you can read online here: lucybellwood.com/new-comic-a-...)
'The records have been digitised and indexed by the genealogy company Ancestry, which has partnered with the Centre for the Study of the Legacies of British Slavery at University College London.'
Leaps and bounds forward in our understanding of the histories of the British enslaved. #Skystorians

How do they not understand that by not defending them they are already losing to fascists.

just learned this today
I've made a starter pack of UK webcomic creators! It's very incomplete and I will be continually adding to it as I discover more UK webcomic folk, so please feel free to recommend yourself/anyone you know who you think I should add π

I have four on the go at the moment but I am trying to focus on finishing just one this year. If I am lucky I may get a second short one in after. Too many ideas, too little time, and also ADHD.
Looking at how much work I still have to do on my current comic project and laughing a little madly to myself.
