Once all the bike lanes are gone, and congestion hasn't improved, we will look back on this as a foolish act of self-sabotage by a government more interested in its own personal vendettas than in making Ontarians' lives better and more affordable.

@mikeschreiner.bsky.socialOct 8, 2026, 8:00 PM

Traffic in Toronto sucks, but instead of providing real solutions like public transit, Ford is performatively removing bike lanes as an expensive culture war stunt. This serves only to make gridlock worse and commuting more dangerous for both cyclists and drivers.

@mikeschreiner.bsky.socialOct 8, 2026, 8:00 PM

Tuesday will be a sad day for Ontario. Ford's government is taking us backwards, spending millions taking away bike lanes in Toronto when people across Ontario desperately need money for hospitals, housing, schools and infrastructure.

According to a sworn statement to the OPP, Doug Ford was using taxpayer funding as leverage to get media coverage. Taxpayer money isn't Ford's personal bank account. He needs to answer to these serious allegations.

I join those who are praying for peace in Palestine and Israel, an end to the siege in Gaza, and a world in which every single person can live in freedom, peace, self-determination and dignity.

Nobody should face fear or violence simply for practicing their faith in public. Ontario Greens remain committed to confronting anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and hate in all its forms—today and every day.

@mikeschreiner.bsky.socialOct 7, 2026, 6:43 PM

Over the past few years we’ve witnessed a troubling rise in anti-Semitism in our communities and across Canada. We’ve also seen a rise in Islamophobia and anti-Palestinian racism. We cannot allow this to become normalized.

@mikeschreiner.bsky.socialOct 7, 2026, 6:43 PM

I’m taking time today to remember those who lost their lives and grieve with our community members who continue to carry the loss and the pain.

Today is a difficult day for so many in Ontario and beyond. It’s been three years since the Hamas terror attacks that claimed 1,200 Israeli lives, and the start of the war in Gaza which has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians.

Young people are already struggling to get by in an economy stacked against them. Doug Ford needs to reverse these OSAP cuts, take accountability for his own mismanagement, and hold the bad actors responsible instead of punishing all students.

@mikeschreiner.bsky.socialOct 7, 2026, 5:10 PM

3. Instead of holding bad actors accountable, Ford punishes all students who rely on OSAP.

2. Earlier this summer, we learn that just seven private career colleges received $385M in grants, the same amount as all public colleges in Ontario combined.

@mikeschreiner.bsky.socialOct 7, 2026, 5:10 PM

Let's get the timeline clear here: 1. Career Colleges Ontario warns the Ford government about suspicious OSAP activity in January 2023. Ford lets private career colleges abuse the system for years.

It's Ontario Agriculture Week! Ontario farmers grow 200+ crops supporting an agrifood sector that employs 1 in 9 Ontarians, but Ontario is losing 319 acres of farmland every day. Ontario Greens are calling for a Foodbelt to protect it. Tell your MPP to support the Foodbelt: gpo.ca/foodbelt

Ford got caught handing out millions to well-connected insiders and Conservative donors. Now he's adding paperwork to make it look better. But the hidden truth is that the minister's office still picks the winners. Until that changes, expect more of the same.

Injured workers in Ontario deserve public services that understand them and support them. We have the money to do it and the Ontario Greens will keep fighting to put people before profits.

@mikeschreiner.bsky.socialOct 1, 2026, 8:31 PM

The Ford government is closing WSIB offices making it harder for injured workers to access services and supports they deserve. Instead of cutbacks that force thousands of injured workers into poverty, the province should fix the system.

@mikeschreiner.bsky.socialOct 1, 2026, 7:43 PM

Put another way, Ford wants to spend more on removing bike lanes in Toronto ($48M) than he's spent protecting all of Ontario's businesses from an international trade war. Ontario deserves serious leadership, that follows through on promises, and actually puts people before profits.

@mikeschreiner.bsky.socialOct 1, 2026, 7:43 PM

Doug Ford is all words, no action. He promised $5 billion to protect Ontario businesses from Trump's tariffs. Two years in, he's given $100m to one steel company and only spent $40M across all other businesses.
