My RPG reviews are very image-heavy. I also try to make them match the art style of the RPG I'm discussing. Usually, this means creating my own assets. Except for Delta Green. I picked up their Digital Assets Packs & now I spend way more time than reasonable making review slides look unhinged

About a year and a half ago, Arc Dream donated over $70,000 of Humble Bundle money to Ukraine's military defense fund, so YOU'RE ALL WELCOME

I just stumbled across the only known issue of an African-American periodical titled: The People's Journal. It was published in Brooklyn, NY from roughly 1866-1869. This issue is dated August 29, 1868. I'm still trying to digest all of this, but at a glance I already see some really cool stuff. 🗃️🧵

Front cover of a newspaper titled: The People's Journal which was published August 29, 1868. It was published by the African Civilization Society and edited by Rev. Rufus Perry.

New working paper: the Norwegian wealth tax was a huge success. The "exodus" of wealthy people never happened (less than 100 individuals left). Tax revenue increased by 71.5%. No changes in business activity or investment.

Taxing Entrepreneurial Wealth: Evidence from
Norway, 2021-2025
Marius A. K. Ring
WORKING PAPER 35854|
DOl 10.3386/w35854
ISSUE DATE October 2026
Whether imposing higher taxes on business owners adversely affects business activity by constraining investment and inducing capitalist flight is a central question in the ongoing debate on how to tax the ultra wealthy. To shed new light, I exploit a series of related Norwegian reforms during 2021-2024 that increased dividend tax rates, removed migration-related capital gains tax loopholes, and nearly doubled the effective marginal tax rate on business wealth. These reforms spurred international debate and, allegedly, an "exodus" of Norwegian billionaires (Financial Times,
2023). While I document clear effects on migration, these responses are concentrated among the top 0.1% of the wealth distribution and mostly confined to 2022 and 2023. My results indicate that at most 100 individuals left due to the reforms. I find no evidence of significant outmigration or reduced inflows of startup founders or inventors. I estimate that absent any outmigration, wealth tax revenues would have increased by 75% from 2021 to 2024. Reform-driven outmigration lowers the revenue gain to 71.5%. My findings further show that outmigrating owners' firms remain economically active and do not reduce investment. In a broader set of analyses, I examine whether business outcomes are affected, regardless of whether owners outmigrate, since firms may reduce investment both due to liquidity constraints or distortions to owners' savings decisions. I compare firms owned by Norwegian individuals subject to the wealth tax with firms owned by foreigners and other tax-exempt entities. By merging historical ownership data from Orbis with the Norwegian shareholder register, I perform these analyses on both Norwegian and foreign-domiciled firms.
Across settings, I find no evidence that Norwegian-owned firms pay out more dividends or invest less after the reforms,…

I have been hating Lighting Source's (now Ingram's) shitty 240% ink limit for 25 years. Does ANY other print house still require that 1990s standard? And yet I'm stuck adapting to it because DriveThruRPG (now @roll20.net) refuses to get out of that bed, and our fans want the DTRPG POD option. Grrrr.

Still working on a 2nd edition of our classic RPG Godlike. Supers in WW2. "Superpowers?" you say. "I thought you guys were not into power fantasies." This is not the Avengers. More like superpowers in Saving Private Ryan. Built to break down your Talent in deeply researched, grim and amusing detail.

Battle Fatigue
In extreme conditions, a character must make a Stability roll. If it fails, the character suffers battle fatigue.
Sample Battle Fatigue Triggers
' If Stability succeeds after killing up close or in cold blood you may spend 1 Base Will to become hardened. Such killing no longer risks battle fatigue.
Battle Fatigue Effects
• Physical: Roll 1d for an involuntary reaction or spend 1 WP to choose: (1-2) scream, (3-4) weep, (5-6) vomit, (7-8) urinate, (9-10) defecate. Whichever, you become exhausted (see "Exhaustion").
• Psychological: Choose a reaction from the "Battle Fatigue Responses." It lasts a few minutes. An ally can snap you out of it by rolling Leadership or Intimidation, which costs them 1 Will, granting you W in WP.
Battle Fatigue Responses
Lose WP equal to the lowest die in the failed Stability roll. Surrender or run away at top speed.
Lose WP equal to the lowest die in the failed Stability roll. Sit paralyzed in uncontrolled fear and shock.
Lose WP equal to the highest die in the failed Stability roll. Mindlessly attack or perform some repetitive task.
RESPONSE
EFFECTS
Flee

New soldiers

Combat veterans

Not common
Battle Fatigue at Zero Will Points
If battle fatigue reduces you to zero WP, or strikes when you have zero, it's worse: you lose 1 Base Will; you lose 1d from the Stability skill, if you have it; and you must roll on or choose from the "Permanent Trauma" table. (At the GM's discretion, you might be sent to a field hospital for a shower, a clean uniform, and two days of sedation and hot meals. That grants a Stability roll to shake off the permanent trauma and regain Win WP.)
