There's hope out there. Yes. I find that one read always lead to another, and there's always room in the cart.

From Rolling Stone’s list (2021): The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time…

#148: Led Zeppelin, “Kashmir”

Robert Plant once said the recording “Kashmir” incorporates all that is Led Zeppelin. I do believe it’s one of their best.

Heather McHugh, from “Webcam the World”

Get all of it. Set up the shots
at every angle; run them online
24-7. Get beautiful stuff (like
scenery and greenery and style)
and get the ugliness (like cruelty
and quackery and rue). There’s nothing
unastonishing – but get that, too. We have

to save it all, now that we can, and while.
Do close-ups with electron microscopes
and vaster pans with planetcams.
It may be getting close
to our last chance –
how many

millipedes or elephants are left?
How many minutes for mind-blinded men?
Use every lens you can – get Dubliners
in fisticuffs, the last Beijinger with
an abacus, the boy in Addis Abada who feeds
the starving dog. And don’t forget the cows

in neck-irons, when barns begin
to burn.

The Lost Love Poems of Sappho

The poems we haven't read
must be her fiercest:
imperfect, extreme.
As it is with love, its nights, its days.
It stands on the top of the mountain
and looks for more mountain, steeper pitches.
Descent a thought impossible to imagine.

Portrait of My Gender as [Inaudible]

By Meg Day

I knew I was a god
when you could not
agree on my name

& still, none you spoke
could force me to listen
closer. Is this the nothing

the antelope felt when
Adam, lit on his own
entitling, dubbed family,

genus, species? So many
descendants became
doctors, delivered

babies, bestowed bodies
names as if to say it is to make it
so. Can it be a comfort between

us, the fact of my creation?
I was made in the image
of a thing withoutan image & silence, too,
is your invention. Who prays
for a god except to appear

with answers, but never
a body? A voice? If I told you
you wouldn’t believe me

because I was the one
to say it. On the first day
there was no sound

worth mentioning. If  I, too,
am a conductor of air, the only
praise I know is in stereo

(one pair—an open hand & closed
fist—will have to do). I made
a photograph of my name:

there was a shadow in a field
& I put my shadow in it. You
can’t hear me, but I’m there.

Write the way you want
Too much blood has gone under the bridge
To go on believing I believe
That you can only go one way.

In poetry everything is permitted.

Greets you with thunder and lightning.

Marginalia I ask: do her breaths shake the house? With each crossed finger, with each denial does she grow on, unacknowledged? though you tried, tried hard to hold on to the times when people were nothing but an admirer of you I ask: does she still live here? incorporeal and thus unimportant, thus…
