Council member Antonio Lewis introduced a resolution to identify and rename any roads in District 12 that are named after the Confederacy or Confederates and another resolution to conduct a feasibility study with the goal of increasing Section 9 public housing in the city.

K. Bond also introduced an ordinance to fine tune the annual city budget timetable by having council budget priorities be submitted in February and the mayor offering a proposed budget by the first full council meeting in April.

Zoning Committee Chair Mary Norwood announces that there will be a work session on the Zoning 2.0 legislation currently held in that committee. The work session will be Thursday, Oct. 15, 10 a.m. in the committee room at Atlanta City Hall.

Margie McLeod says the city should offer forgiveness loans to people facing evictions. The city recently launched a program to offer $500 zero-interest loans to people facing evictions. McLeod says it does not go far enough.
