A reminder drought isn’t just a lack of rain.
It’s also a warning about how fragile our water systems are becoming.

Sharing information about sustainable and ecological farming to help mitigate the effects of climate change and to work towards a sustainable food supply chain for earth.
Number 2 on the Climate News Weekend Watchlist is from Nate Hagens explaining how we are stupidly saving up for when we won’t be able to use our money: when we’ve reached climate collapse and our economies don’t exist anymore. Are you saving up for retirement after 2035? Maybe watch this:

Warming prominently extends vertically aloft into the lower/mid-troposphere over the #Arctic region in October (i.e., notable Arctic amplification temperature trends).

"There’s no getting around the fact that we — as a species and as a planet — are now living in the future that climate scientists have been warning us about for more than half a century."
Your 'moment of doom' for Oct. 14, 2026 ~ Winning? "This year, global sea level, global ocean heat content, worldwide glacier thickness, the mass of the Greenland ice sheet, and the atmospheric concentration of each of the three most common greenhouse gases are at record extremes."

The field beside our house, called 'Glan', is becoming a fine wildflower meadow, with abundant bird's-foot trefoil etc, drawing loads of butterflies and other insects. Grazed by our Dexter cattle for a few weeks each winter, it's left fallow for the rest of the year. (Photo taken a few months ago.)
With climate change, it’s a matter of time before mosquitoes and the deadly diseases they cause are everywhere.
Why would an animal weighing less than a teaspoon bother flying 150 miles in a night?
We have fitted almost 100 with 'airtags for bats' to find out. When one flies near an iPhone, its position is pinged to us.
Look what Mike and Mira did last night!
The preliminary Niño 3.4 sea-surface temperature for October 13 just broke 30°C for the third time, and is now 3.3°C above the 1991-2020 baseline. This marks the 22nd consecutive daily temperature above the previous all-time record high of 29.815°C. set on Nov. 17, 2015.
So why state that a farm can be ecologically destructive while being economically sustainable. Being able to farm for 50 years and then go bankrupt is NOT economically sustainable. Perhaps you’ve been drinking too much British capitalist koolaid. Stop saying things that are false.
Very very excited to say that the books I've been working on are ready for pre-order!
The first is "Art in the Field: Wildflowers" and covers techniques, pencil skills, watercolour, & step by step projects...
@dandcbooks.bsky.social
How in heavens have you reached that point. Holy hell
Nope. Entirely false. Economic sustainability doesn’t mean “makes money for a few years and then goes bankrupt”. You seem to also entirely miss the point. Ecological collapse leads to bankrupt farms. How did you miss that?
A music note that sustains for a long time is sustained. A farm that is sustained for a long time is sustained. Why can a farm be sustained? If a farmer chooses to farm sustainably. Sustainability seems to have lost all its meaning in discussions about climate.

What does a 63% decline in farmland birds tell us about the way we farm?
UK breeding bird abundance is down 19% since 1970. Seabirds have fallen 22% since 2020.
Food production matters. So does the biodiversity that sustains functioning ecosystems.
Socialists understand economics and investment far better than capitalists.
Was muss die Umweltprüfung untersuchen? Hier die wichtigsten Forderungen 🧵
