Yes. A lot. Can’t say anymore right now.
I have a new fan!
Something really fishy going on with absentee ballots for overseas voters for the American midterms. In all the years I have lived in the UK I have never not received a ballot. This year it seems to have gone missing. What do I do? Any suggestions? Apparently it was meant to have arrived mid-Sept.
I’m coming to York on October 30th!

Isn't it nice when there's something we can ALL agree on? #ReleaseTheUnredactedEPSTEIN-Files
It’s amazing, isn’t it? What she witnessed in the course of her life from the 1880s to the 1960s would have been pretty remarkable.
Very recently.
That veil Ethel is wearing would one day end up in her daughter’s dressing up box. Ethel was unrepentant until the bitter end.
And here they are…
This is the famous Bow Street Magistrate’s Court, now part of a stunning hotel - the Nomad. Although the actual building is Edwardian, both Henry Fielding and John Fielding (‘the blind justice’) presided here in the 18th century. Many of today’s barristers remember cutting their legal teeth here too
A bit more context to this photo - the event was held in the very room where Crippen and Ethel had their hearing in 1910.
A fantastic speaker and a fantastic location We welcomed Hallie Rubenhold back to Bow Street to discuss her latest book, Story of a Murder, in the building where Dr Crippen and Ethel Le Neve had their committal hearing. Hallie detailed how they were eventually brought to justice.
Oh dear. Thats going to drive me mad when I see it.
I do love how the woman, girl and dog at the centre look exactly like a Thomas Lawrence painting though.
I know, the loose hair in period drama thing drives me insane. Second only to corsets worn directly against the skin and men in leather frock coats.
Yes! I'm correct! I'm pleased to say that after all of these years my eighteenth century eye still hasn't failed me.
A film set in the 1790s will be a real treat for some of us Georgian nerds @emilybrand.bsky.social @maddypelling.bsky.social @hannahgreig.bsky.social @laurasrobinson.bsky.social
