The day after Russia killed 30 Ukrainian civilians, Trump lifted sanctions on Russian diesel and vowed that the US will buy it—even though Russia is bankrolling Iran in the war the President’s waging.   None of this will bring down prices at home. All of it will embolden our adversaries.

Trump’s recent actions on Ukraine prove what we have always known: his top priority is pleasing Putin first, everything else second.

Every child, no matter their race, ethnicity, or religion, deserves to live safely. Today, we honor Wadee by condemning violence and fighting hate.

Today is Wadee Remembrance Day in Illinois. Wadee Alfayoumi was a six-year-old American boy who was brutally murdered in a hate crime targeting his Palestinian and Muslim identity.

On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor the contributions of Native Americans & Indigenous Peoples everywhere. Indigenous Peoples have inhabited North America, or Turtle Island, for thousands of years. Today, we honor their central role in the American story & continue to fight for justice.

I enjoyed meeting with our friends at the Norwood Park Senior Center! It’s always important to meet with our community and learn how we in Congress can better advocate for our elder constituents.

Mike Ditka was a hall of fame player, coach, and Chicago icon respected by fans and foes alike. His intensity and authenticity embodied the spirit of Chicago and left a lasting impression on football that won’t be forgotten. My thoughts are with all the family, friends, and fans who loved Da Coach.

Pete Hegseth’s decision to livestream an execution by firing squad is barbaric. Terrorist groups post executions online, Not civilized nations. We’re the United States of America, not ISIS. 

This absolutely must not happen, and Hegseth must be removed from his position immediately.

Every Chicagoan deserves to feel safe when using our city's public transportation. I've always fought for federal funding for the CTA, and I'll keep fighting to make sure our trains are safe, affordable, and accessible for everyone.

My thoughts are with the family, friends, and colleagues of CTA janitor Julian Mobley, who was killed yesterday at a Green Line station. The perpetrator must be brought to justice.

I want to thank everyone for attending my office’s semi-annual Senior Resource Fair this summer! Twice a year, I host federal, state, and local government officials in a free fair, connecting our elderly residents to resources in our community. Thanks for making this one a big hit!

We must cut off all funding for ICE & CBP until they end this reign of terror return to their original mission. I’m also cosponsoring the Ending Qualified Immunity for ICE Agents Act, to make sure we can hold the worst agents accountable.

Yesterday, ICE fired at least seven rounds at and wounded a man in New York City—all while his five-year-old son was in the back seat of the car.   ICE has invaded our cities and unleashed violence everywhere they've gone. First Chicago, then Minneapolis, and now New York.

I joined the Garfield Park Community Council as one of the first planting volunteers to help with their Community Orchard! Together, we planted 50 trees of over a dozen different varieties. I’m incredibly thankful for this community, and everyone who comes together to fight for our planet🌳🌎️

To Ms. Hutchinson and everyone who has told the truth in the face of Trump’s threats: We’re not going to let you be silenced.

Trump’s Attorney General Todd Blanche is weaponizing the DOJ to drum up false charges against an aide from Trump’s first term—all because she dared to tell the truth about January 6th. I was trapped in the House Gallery on J6. No effort by Trump and his friends can erase what happened that day.

Trump’s economy is so terrible that he’s throwing measly checks at voters.   With many Americans living paycheck to paycheck, $90 isn’t going to cut it. We need to end the war with Iran and bring prices down NOW.
