💯 the internet boom was wildly popular because it came with a job market boom, it was exciting, good for the average person and contributed to inflation going down not up. In so many ways the AI boom is the inverse of the late 90s not a repeat

Part of why I don't like the AI-or-bust economy is the constant flopsweat of people on the news who say this HAS to work. Quit making everyone so anxious. Goddamn. If this is the next Google then why are you acting like this? I don't remember being told to buy an iPhone at gunpoint.

If authors are slower to respond to email/DMs than they used to be, it's nothing personal. It's the scams. In the two days since my new book released, I've sifted through about 70 scam emails to find the two true invites in the bunch. It's exhausting.
