Norway’s former Chief of Defence, General Sverre Diesen: “Under the current Trump administration, we cannot consider the United States our ally. Trump’s America is a hostile actor that, in the event of a conflict in Europe, would side with Russia rather than with us and other European countries.”

🧵🧵🧵 I was going to write a simple sentence about the madness of the moment, but I got distracted by the U.S. president’s complaint that he was screwed out of the Nobel Peace Prize after bombing multiple countries, and then he bolstered his case with a plan to execute a guy in a wheelchair and ...

Wow — listen to these new comments from Trump. Thanking Putin, trashing Zelenskyy, characterizing Russia as eager for peace and Ukraine as intransigent. The mask is totally off.

Company behind Scotland’s biggest data centre proposal is owned by the treasurer of the UK Conservative party via British Virgin Islands. It could receive £23m public subsidy. BVI facilitates opacity and tax avoidance. Successive UK govts have defended the use of tax havens by wealthy elites.

In more serious times, the US government trying to cover up the deaths of service members would be a career-ending scandal.

Trump is not just an appeaser but now an open advocate for Putin's Russia: unapologetically aligning with the aggressor who started & continues this conflict. Trump's America is an enemy of the rest of West & its leaders have to oppose Trump & support Ukraine's resistance.

To bastardise the Disraeli quote, ‘lies, damn lies and data’. It can be interpreted and manipulated to support all sorts of stuff; this would seem to be the WRU clutching at straws to support their decision. I’d love to know how much they’ve spent on consultants yet still no feasibility study …

Typical WRU drop the hand grenade at 4 o’clock on a Friday afternoon and promptly run away. Oh and there’s a Welsh derby kicking off at 7:45.
