Thank you, Southern Oregon Climate Action Now, for hosting last night’s SD3 forum in Medford. We talked water, data centers, road funding, and emissions. Every candidate was invited. I showed up to answer to the people I’m asking to represent. Brad Hicks did not. Got a question? Send it my way.

On the left, candidates sit at a long table beneath a projected SOCAN presentation while an audience member takes notes in the foreground. A SOCAN banner hangs across the front of the table. On the right, a white panel displays the “Vote Denise Krause State Senate Oregon” logo and the text: “I will fight to: Protect our water. Keep energy affordable. Make growth pay its own way. Demand accountability.” A green evergreen tree and Denise Krause campaign logo appear at the bottom.

Thank you, Southern Oregon Climate Action Now, for tonight’s SD3 forum in Medford. Water, data centers, transportation funding, emissions: none easy, all urgent here. Every candidate was invited. I showed up. Brad Hicks did not. I’ll keep answering your questions, anywhere you ask.

I’m so grateful to the North Coast Carpenters, who came out and helped us knock doors this weekend. What a great team! Thank you so much for your support!

Today is Indigenous Peoples’ Day in Oregon. The Table Rocks stand on the ancestral homeland of Native peoples forcibly removed from the Rogue Valley. Their descendants are still here. Oregon schools now teach this history through Tribal History/Shared History. Did you learn it growing up?

Four Oregon landscapes surround a central circular graphic reading “Indigenous Peoples’ Day.” The collage shows misty evergreen forest, a river winding through rocky country, snow covered mountains and a pine woodland. A small Oregon state seal appears in the lower right corner.

I spent 25 years in Mississippi and watched the “Mississippi Miracle” happen. It wasn’t a miracle. It was a law: catch reading problems early, help right away, tell parents in writing, train teachers. Oregon passed its own in 2023. Salem has to keep funding it. I’d be grateful for your vote.

Oregonians should not be tracked simply for driving to work, school, the doctor, or the store. I support a statewide ban on Flock and similar license plate cameras, with existing systems shut off now. If lawmakers refuse, I will support putting a ban before Oregon voters.

Do you have a Democratic dog, cat, or other beloved pet? Meet Jake, proudly representing Team Denise! 🐾💙 Post a photo in the comments and tell us their name. Let’s see how many four legged members of Senate District 3 are ready for election season!

Campaign graphic showing a woman sitting on a large rock beside a black and brown dog named Jake in a wooded creek setting. The dog looks up at her as she smiles down at him. Text reads “Democratic Dog,” “This is Jake,” “Vote Democrat,” and “Denise Krause State Senate.” A pale blue sidebar includes two large paw print illustrations and the Denise Krause campaign logo.

I know how hard it is to find housing. People should be able to live in the communities where they were raised, teach, and work. Thank you, Rogue Valley Habitat for Humanity, for helping working families buy homes. But we need to do more, and I intend to do that in Salem.

Talent Harvest Festival shows what makes this community special: families, local nonprofits, artisans, volunteers, small businesses, and neighbors all in one place. Thank you to everyone who organized, performed, volunteered, and showed up. Talent gets better every year.

I attended the Oregon Nurses Association town hall in Medford, where a 200 person room overflowed. Nurses and families raised serious concerns about Asante closures, staffing, labor relations, and access to care. Asante matters to Southern Oregon. Its board should listen.

Some of Southern Oregon’s wildest country is at stake. The Trump administration wants the Forest Service to repeal the 2001 Roadless Rule. Public comments close Oct. 6. Tell the Forest Service what these lands mean to you.

People shouldn’t have to fight the system while they’re fighting for their lives. That’s why as your state Senator I will work hard to prevent insurance companies from raising rates and prevent private equity buy-outs that push people out of care.

I joined JPR’s Jefferson Exchange to discuss health care, education, affordable housing, and working across political divides in Southern Oregon. We also talked about ways to train more doctors locally. Read or listen to the full interview.

KOBI reported that Rogue River Restoration Council volunteers rescued about 22,000 juvenile steelhead and coho from drying tributaries this summer. They saved thousands of fish by hand. But volunteers cannot make water. Salem has work to do.

PERS is not a retirement gift. It is earned compensation for Oregon’s teachers, firefighters, nurses, and other public workers. Since 1970, investment income has provided 72.6% of pension revenue. Workers kept their bargain. Oregon should keep its part.

Campaign graphic about Oregon PERS. Large text reads “PERS IS EARNED COMPENSATION” with the subtitle “Public employees earn it over a career.” Three sections highlight that nearly 73% of PERS revenue since 1970 has come from investment earnings, nearly $4.9 billion was paid to Oregon retirees in 2024, and those payments support billions in economic activity and tens of thousands of jobs. A lower banner reads “RESPONSIBLE REFORM” and “Keep the system financially sound. Don’t rewrite the deal after workers have earned it.” At right is a photo of a woman standing outdoors above a Denise Krause State Senate campaign logo.

Maslow Project serves more than 3,500 young people and family members each year across Southern Oregon. For the class of 2026, 58 of 64 seniors they case managed graduated. Thank you to the staff, volunteers, donors, and businesses who keep this work going.
