Somebody got to do it.

Third edition of the classic book by Jeff Weeks, THE SHAPE OF SPACE. I'm proud that it includes one of my spacetime diagrams. Wonderfully this new edition is in color! You need this book more than you realize.

There are 8 billion people right now. And most people have about 10 clocks, I would imagine, if you count all the different timekeeping devices. So there's about 80 billion clocks! Turn them all off!

You know, I always wondered about one of the lyrics in Take the Skids Bowling where at the beginning he says "every night I pray to Jah and he increases the number of *clocks* by one." I had thought for a long time that it was *cars*.

My stomach after a huge dinner: "Rovelli suggests that after the white hole finishes spitting out most of its energy, it leaves behind a tiny, stable remnant about the size of a human hair but weighing as much as a large mountain."

Tomorrow I might put a bird on the prickly pear, and then I might be done. Unknown fable!

Still grinding away at my painting and my story. Today's title for the picture: "Unknown Fable." In the style of Pieter Bruegel.

Worth knowing

I'm a bit out of the loop in my rural home...

But, as my children would say: Old much?

Not only is it tiny, it's dark gray on light gray. Common example is recipes on boxes of food that you want to cook.

I like the Bruegel paintings that illustrate unknown proverbs. That's so surreal and cool. An image of something we don't know or if we hear it, it doesn't make sense.

I am still working on my new painting. I am not sure of the title or what it is about yet. I think this is some sort of tunnel or space vehicle that the man and the woman are curious about entering, but that guy deeper in the tunnel is a little off-putting.

Don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but there's the bit in, I think, Wayne's World, when Garth confesses to being turned on by trans-Bugs.
