This is definitely the name of an English "It Girl" actor who suddenly turns up in everything and when you look into it her father owns Shropshire.

I love when you're watching a movie or play or TV show, and you know what's coming but want it to not happen. I get it just before Desdemona drops her handkerchief, when Orpheus walks out of Hades with Eurydice in tow, and I just experienced it again, watching the Carrie. An excellent TV show.

Of course thinking that parenting is about loading the right input into a kid’s brain to make them maximal efficient adults is pathetic, but also: reading to kids is wonderful *for parents* too. Like, reading books to my daughter before bed is a core memory I’ll probably think about on my deathbed
