But yeah, I feel you. I don't, like, hate it. But often at the end of the day I find it pretty overwhelming

I mean, for the first year or so "cooking dinner" often meant like KD and a frozen vegetable, or frozen pierogies. And yeah, we're definitely lucky that they didn't fight us. But neither hubby nor I learned to cook before moving out, so we wanted to make sure Kiddo DID learn

They're 14 now, and while they still only have a small number of recipes they can do completely unsupervised, and they're definitely slower than my husband or I, it's genuinely awesome having another cook in the house

Genuinely one of my favorite parenting investments: teaching the kid to cook starting when they were 10 Has led to moments like tonight, where I told the kid to make dinner, lay down for forty five minutes, and woke up to soup.
