Other countries with increasing numbers of data centres take note. These are not robust infrastructure. Which ones are critical services (NHS, say) dependant upon? Which are just creating slop? Do you know? Can you tell? Take out a data centre at random - what's the worst that happens?
My latest @newscientist.com cartoon
Has BBC News got a job lot of extra vowels they need to get rid off? So far this week: "filiming" and "regareded". These won't even pass a spell check - so what's going on? I've seen other typos where at least it's a valid (but wrong) word. Sloppy, but I suppose at least not AI slop...

AI Bubble Teetering on the Brink as OpenAI Admits to Massive Financial Failure in Leaked Documents
Financial Times reveals that OpenAI’s annualized revenue is roughly $20 billion lower than previously expected:

How to destroy a profitable industry, by narrow minded politicians who won't win back any Reform voters no matter how xenophobic they act...
Who gave AI companies the right to "run tests that involved interactions with randomly selected websites"?
Nobody did. They just took it. Like they take anything that isn't bolted down.
Entirely unethical slop bots, which apparently YOU are not allowed to be rude to.
Get yours at #FantasyCon (Sat 2pm, main hall) or when it launches direct from #FlameTree or in all big bookshops / smaller ones by ordering) on 13th October!

Spray-painted edges, embossed gold trim covers, all the usual FlameTree quality! Bloody gorgeous!
Liam does #Romantasy shock horror (and has the contributor copies to prove it!)
"Love, and Other Distractions" is romantic fantasy with all the red flags and an non-zero body count, appearing in FlameTree's GORGEOUS "Of Blood & Petals", one of 25 short stories on the darker side of love...
Tentacular!
"It's not a disaster if you didn't vote for me" is quite a flex...
Reminds me of the interactive soap operas in Fahrenheit 451. Though expecting friends to play online when they presumably have their own perfectly tailored environments does seem like he hasn't thought it through.

The Greens went from 4,030 votes to 8,928, a rise of 122%. Reasons and strategies can be debated, but these are the numbers... It is a tough ask to follow the leader of the majority party (so well done, Sagal Abdi-Wali) but the (BBC) reporting is all over the place - as often does happen.
"a chatbot used by US intelligence invented information about a Chinese vessel carrying nuclear material, reportedly leading the US to prepare a military response." "Intelligence" used very loosely there. But hey, they're just the guys with their fingers on the nukes, NOTHING to worry about.
Greens more than double their votes (against falling turnout) and the "Can Polanski survive?" debate is in full flow. British Media is about as blatantly biased as it can get . No one is ripping into busted-flush, dismal fourth place Reform for THEIR failure to make any ground at all... why is that?
