@thehorrorchick.bsky.socialReposted by @justindrabek.bsky.socialBecause we were chatting about Mike Flanagan earlier today, I wanted to share my essay I wrote earlier this year on how both THE LIFE OF CHUCK and JACOB'S LADDER gave us such compelling explorations of dying. I'm really proud of this piece. from-the-desk-of-the-horror-chick.ghost.io/exploring-ja...

@justindrabek.bsky.socialThe hardest part about ending a relationship, is some times TV shows and books are released and you just want to know their opinions on them. Anyways, such is life.
@stephenking.bsky.socialReposted by @justindrabek.bsky.socialA new book, OTHER WORLDS THAN THESE (T3), is published today. It's the final book of the Talisman trilogy, co-written with my old buddy, Peter Straub. Thank you for your attention in this matter.

@inventingreality.bsky.socialReposted by @justindrabek.bsky.social@justindrabek.bsky.socialStraub's voice is in this book, its beautiful. I know we will never see the email exchanges that spurred this book into existence, but I can't stop thinking about them. Ka. Ka is A Wheel. Go then. There are Other Worlds Than These.
@justindrabek.bsky.social13 Chapters into #OtherWorldsThanThese and it truly is proving to be the perfect sequel to both The Talisman and Black House and its connection to The Dark Tower is mind blowingly perfect.
This is a gift that keeps on giving.
Thank you Sai King, and thank you to the late Peter Straub.
@justindrabek.bsky.socialTen days in and I haven't missed a post, here is my latest rambling/snapshot thoughts for #31HorrorFilmsIn31Days

@justindrabek.bsky.social@justindrabek.bsky.social@mikeflanaganfilm.com just makes art that connects deeply to my soul. Yes, of course some of these are adaptations of my favorite authors, but man, Carrie is perfection to me.
I truly hope he gets to do The Dark Tower.
10 chapters into #OtherWorldsThanThese and I'm already wishing it didn't have to end. God, how good it is to be back in Midworld. Very very minor spoilers below. #books #horror #booksky #horrorsky
