Nothing this fascist regime does shocks me, but what does shock me is the lack of Democrats standing up to fight this. Where are our representatives and senators?

Our lives depend on it. Our neighbors' lives depend on it. The futures of our children and grandchildren depend on it. Do not be silent. Stand up for democracy. Stand up for human rights. Stand up for justice. Above all, stand up for one another. We cannot afford to lose our humanity.

Every day brings another outrage. But being overwhelmed cannot mean giving up. We cannot become so exhausted by the constant cruelty that we accept it as normal. We must continue to speak out, hold our leaders accountable, and use our votes to demand change.

We cannot claim to stand for human rights while denying those same rights, dignity, and compassion to others. Hatred will never bring us closer to peace.

Palestinian civilians are not Hamas. Jewish people are not the Israeli government. No one should be held responsible for the decisions of world leaders simply because of their religion, ethnicity, or nationality.

Amid all this intense suffering, we're witnessing a disturbing rise in Islamophobia and antisemitism, as innocent people are blamed, threatened, and targeted for the actions of governments and political leaders.

Then there is the threat of livestreaming the execution of a convicted killer. What justice does that bring to the families who lost their loved ones? It doesn't. It turns death into a spectacle and risks making a martyr out of a murderer.

By easing oil sanctions on Russia, this allows more money to flow into a country that continues to wage war against innocent civilians. And now, President Zelensky is the one being pressured to make concessions to the very nation invading his homeland. This is abhorrent. Absolutely abhorrent.

I have something to say. I am heartbroken, furious, and increasingly horrified by what is happening in our country and around the world. The US has betrayed Ukraine.
