A beautiful memory from this day 2024. A lone sailing boat came into view on the horizon just before sunset on Falasarna Beach, Crete. It took a lot of running to line it up but it was worth it ❤️

Two sunrise on this day memories - the first one from this day last year over Haulbowline Lighthouse on Carlingford Lough and the second one from Santorini, Greece on this day 2024, looking at the island of Syrna about 70 miles or so away.
One of my favourite mornings of the year so far …. a throwback to the 7th January on the Bull Wall / Dublin Bay. What a sky and a beautiful sun pillar. Featuring the Réalt na Mara statue at the end of the Bull Wall, North Bull Lighthouse, Poolbeg Lighthouse and the Poolbeg Chimneys.

Thank you 🥰
Thanks Bob. When the sun sits low on the horizon, the earth’s atmosphere acts like a massive glass prism, separating white sunlight into its individual colors. Shorter green light waves bend slightly more, pushing to the top edge, while longer red light waves drop down to the bottom edge.
A lovely sunrise featuring Haulbowline Lighthouse. I even managed to capture a green rim effect! If you look closely at the edges of the sun in some photos, you’ll see a green tint along the top and a red fringe along the bottom. Nature putting on a little bit of magic to kick off October.
A virtual stroll around the Flagstaff Viewpoint this evening, taking in some stunning views over Carlingford Lough. 🎹 Silent, O Moyle The song Silent, O Moyle — also known as The Song of Fionnuala — was first published in 1808 in the second volume of Thomas Moore’s Irish Melodies.
Sunrise aligned with Haulbowline Lighthouse and a bird silhouette (a cormorant ?) on Carlingford Lough yesterday. Camera: Canon EOS R6 Mark III Lens: RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1 L IS USM Settings: 400mm | f/6.3 | 1/2000s | ISO 100 | +0.5 EV

The lights are on !
My old reliable - watching the moonrise over Haulbowline Lighthouse from Ballagan shore this evening. It looked like the horizon was clouded over, so I was delighted to see it break through.

A Grey Heron silhouette standing tall in nature’s vibrant spotlight this morning while searching for breakfast!

A long exposure shot from Carlingford Lough this morning taken just before sunrise at 7:20am between Greenore and Ballagan, Co. Louth.
The moon is coming up North East direction so window is facing South West?
📍Kilclief, Co. Down Moonrise over Angus Rock Lighthouse this evening from Kilclief, Co. Down. The moon was very faint at first as the sun hadn’t set so difficult lighting. But it soon appeared in all its glory. The cormorants on top of the lighthouse were paying homage.
Windier for sure
Great when it appeared but light was fading and running was required 🤣
Thanks Chris.
Moonlight and sunset colours from Howth, Co. Dublin this evening.
Some of the beautiful beaches along Waterford’s Copper Coast near the village of Bunmahon. So beautiful. Trá na mBo, Trá na Stella, Ballydowane Cove Bunmahon Beach are featured in these photos.
