I asked Chad what he got done from the task list and he sent me this video 🤣
My pitch for our game releasing Oct 15: “Reason and Rhyme” *no shade on Overcooked that game is a masterpiece, I was just trying to emphasize that our game isn’t as stressful/intense 😅
Many people still don’t know that I made a massive modern JellyCar game that’s widely available and filled with all the old content + lots of new as well! “JellyCar Worlds”

The original JellyCar was released 19 years ago today! Thanks to everyone who has enjoyed the game over the years, JellyCar is a special game that gave me the career I have today ❤️

Thank you so much for having me on! Minor correction, I was just a level designer on Toy Story 3, definitely not a lead 😅
That (incredible) game’s solution is much, much more robust than ours 😅
The dither pattern is 100% in screen space, but if you don’t offset the pattern, the verts “slide around underneath” the pattern creating a lot of flicker and aliasing, so I work out how much the center of the camera view has moved in screen space each frame and offset the dither pattern by that.
A couple of lines of code make a pretty big difference! (🔈 on for explanation)
one thing you learn from making a lot of things is that the nitty gritty details, the millions of tiny invisible decisions, ARE the art. The "higher level ideas" are not nearly as important or interesting

Math is cool! Coded a basic Hilbert curve (2D) for the first time yesterday working on potential puzzles for TurtleCAD 3D.
Comes out in less than 2 weeks! Wishlist to get notified when it releases store.steampowered.com/app/4461870/...
The outlines are really doing a lot of the work for Reason & Rhyme’s look
It was fun to make these parallax dioramas seem impossibly thin with stencil buffer fakery
sometimes you need to remind players
I’m working on a somewhat follow-up to Replicube called TurtleCAD 3D that’s essentially a 3D extension of LOGO packaged into a puzzle game/toy/tool
Furniture Catalog revisions! This is the way players can get detailed progress information in the game. I’m going to continue to work on this on my stream today (twitch.tv/walaber)
