If you live in potentially impacted areas, follow the instructions of local officials to protect you & your family.  Keep cell phones, mobile devices, & spare batteries charged. Do not drive through floodwater. If your area experiences heavy rain and flooding, stay off the roads whenever possible.

North Carolina Emergency Management is prepositioning resources across the state so they can respond quickly if communities are impacted. Take care of your loved ones, and check on your neighbors, too.

As Hurricane Isaias brings the potential for localized flooding and gusty winds this weekend, I encourage everyone to prepare now. Make sure you’re signed up for local emergency alerts, have an emergency kit ready in case you lose power, and never drive through flooded roads.

North Carolina, today is the last day to register to vote online or by mail, but remember that you can still register in person during early voting. Early voting runs October 15 – 31, and Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.

The cost of living is too high for people throughout our state. Grocery bills are going up. Power bills are going up. And thanks to the President’s disastrous war of choice, gas prices are sky-high. When we have an opportunity to bring down costs for families, we need to take it.

@ncgovernor.bsky.socialOct 9, 2026, 5:49 PM

Today I signed House Bill 3 to bring down costs for families, but our work cannot end here. I remain committed to continuing to work across the aisle to make everyday living more affordable for every North Carolinian, not just during election season.

Flags will be lowered to half-staff in North Carolina tomorrow in honor of Firefighter Brokes. Let us keep his colleagues and loved ones in our thoughts and prayers. May his memory be a blessing.

Today we mourn the loss of Andrew Brokes, a young Durham firefighter who died keeping people safe. Firefighter Brokes sustained fatal injuries while heroically searching for victims inside a burning building.
