what is a job where i’m doing all the work i’m doing now but I get paid for it
Colorado & Michigan have become the latest blue states to end Medicaid coverage for trans youth. Solidly blue Colorado will also be IMMEDIATELY shutting off care for all trans kids receiving puberty blockers—despite Trump's rule allowing a 6 month ‘tapering’ period. This is a complete betrayal.
It was Shigeru Mizuki - comic artist, antiwar activist, folklore archivist, and general cultural titan.
cool
The loss of 200 year old trees is significant anywhere. But in the Sonoran desert, a delicate ecosystem that can be quite harsh, their loss is devistating.
if we’re making things illegal i’ve got a few ideas
I truly hate whoever came up with “overselling” in the sense of “i know you booked this travel method for an actual reason yet bear with us we also sold it to many other people so we don’t have it for you.”
On a basic level it’s wild no one thought “what if we photocopied the zines so people could read them.”
Yeah, it’s sad too because I had met with the original curator and there’s an alt timeline of the show that’s an interesting celebration of zines that moves more thoughtfully between zines as art object and zine making as political act. I took my students and they still got a lot out of it.
Joe Brainard first editions go for up to like 2500 though they’re technically I guess mini-comics, this is also the problem with things like the Brooklyn Museum zine show it gives people the idea zines are worth money. The very idea of a first edition zine is hilarious.
Is this dystopia? It feels dystopian.
Last night, Border Patrol & Fisher Industries, with the cooperation of Mexican authorities, cut down the tree sit platform and safety lines, leaving the tree sitter stranded 100’ off the ground. She has no water or supplies.

this, dear Chaucer, is an inaccurate read on the history of the United States, but you can be forgiven having died before said history started.
