Apropos of the Ravens game; the night sky from Westport, currently.

Industrial area in Baltimore with a purple glow in the sky.

Show me a picture on your phone that has your energy that isn’t a selfie.

“I find it kinda bussin'
I find it kinda cap
That the dreams I'm unaliving
Are the dreams that kinda slap”

Every person from Baltimore has heard this *exact* story and we all know it isn't true.

Screenshot of a Reddit comment by user damscomp, posted 29 minutes ago. The comment reads: "A good friend of mine was driving with his girlfriend up the east coast late at night and they desperately needed gas in Baltimore. They got off the highway in a neighborhood they had no business being in. Realizing their mistake they headed back to the highway, but found detours which then caused them to get lost. While driving around they found a cop sitting in his car at an intersection. They pulled up to him and said, 'we're trying to get back to the highway—can you give us directions?' The cop, surprised to see a couple of white kids in downtown Baltimore at 4 in the morning simply said, 'you shouldn't be here.' He turned his lights on and drove them to the highway on-ramp."

Kent Island, MD. 2026.

A red-lit grassy path at night runs through tall reeds toward dark water, under an overcast teal sky with distant shoreline lights on the horizon.

I never want to hear the Republican party moan about waste, fraud, and abuse ever again.

I crouched in the vacant industrial lot across from Fantasies and cackled in the misty dark as the yellow foil smiley face balloon freed itself from the razor wire and hung for a moment in the buzzing pink neon glow of the strip club marquee before fleeing south into the chemical smoke.

This, 100%.

I’m happy the BMA is finally doing something with its impressive photography collection — and I’m simultaneously unsurprised they’ve found a way to shortchange what they have. For a museum with such a strong collection, they REALLY don’t seem to like photography.

We left Bluebird and stood under the gibbous moon as the chimney swifts swarmed in dizzy orbits around the Avenue and our hands found each other's as a man sitting in a Civic parked under an elm tree practiced his didgeridoo.

Gonna share an esoteric, outdated music take but I’d love to hear a Pedro the Lion cover of Lucy Dacus’ ‘Night Shift.’
