thinking about things that society deems a crime if committed. labeling thoughts as immoral is problematic because it lowers the likelihood of someone being able to effectively deal with the thoughts, which are sometimes intrusive, because they feel they can't tell anyone about it.

Some people really need to learn that thought crime isn’t real. You can privately think anything and it has no moral weight.
